Our technology and products are second to none.\nThe Lithography Process Development group is looking for an engineering student with extraordinary potential to further our team’s lithography capabilities through model development, optimization and execution of related experiments. As an intern you will get to work with a variety of our staff, while working on real projects that contribute to the development of next generation of magnetic recording heads.\nAbout the role - you will:\nDevelop technical understanding of leading-edge lithography processes including photoresist processing, optical exposure and lithography related metrology.\nLearn to use industry standard lithography simulation tools to develop and optimize physical models of lithography processes.\nLearn how to design and execute experiments in support of lithography process development\nAssist engineers in investigation of process failures and development of new processes through in-depth data analysis.\nDocument and communicate your findings to the team and management on regular basis\nWork with and learn from a team of experienced engineers with various engineering backgrounds\ncontribute to the development of the next generation of magnetic recording heads.\nAbout you:\nExperience with physical modeling and simulation.\nDemonstrated experience and working knowledge in statistics and data analysis.\nClear and effective verbal and written communication.\nAbility to learn quickly and work independently.\nYour experience includes:\nRelevant course work and knowledge in one or more semiconductor processes: lithography, etch, plating, film deposition or metrology.\nExperience with Matlab, JMP and S-Litho or Prolith software packages\nCurrent student pursuing a Masters or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry or Physics and must be enrolled in Fall 2027 classes.\nLocation:\nOur Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.
