The intern will gain hands-on experience in solving real-world engineering problems and working with cross-functional teams.\nAbout the role - you will:\nSupport engineering evaluation, testing, data collection, and analysis.\nAssist engineers in troubleshooting product or process issues and identifying potential root causes.\nAnalyze engineering data using tools such as Excel, JMP, Python, or similar analytical tools.\nSupport mechanical design, measurement, experiment, and validation activities.\nAssist with DOE, statistical analysis, simulation, or other engineering studies where applicable.\nDevelop simple scripts, dashboards, or automated analysis methods to improve engineering productivity.\nPrepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings.\nParticipate in engineering discussions and collaborate with cross-functional teams on assigned projects.\nComplete an internship project and present results and recommendations at the end of the assignment.\nAbout you:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.\nBasic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and engineering problem-solving.\nFamiliarity with data analysis and statistical methods is preferred.\nExperience with Excel, JMP, Python, MATLAB, CAD, or similar engineering tools is an advantage.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nGood communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.\nSelf-motivated, curious, and willing to learn.\nYour experience includes:\nLocation:\nThe Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center.
