Our engineers work across mechanical design, vacuum systems, magnetics, thermal engineering, automation, and process integration, taking ideas from concept through simulation, prototyping, testing, and deployment into production.\nAs an intern, you’ll join a collaborative engineering team that values strong fundamentals, curiosity, and learning by doing. You’ll gain first-hand exposure to how real engineering problems are solved and how theory turns into working equipment\nAbout the role - you will:\nAs a Mechanical / Engineering Technologist Intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers and be involved in real equipment development activities, including:\nSupporting the mechanical design of parts and sub-systems for high-vacuum sputter equipment\nAssisting with magnetic simulations to model sputter pole designs which includes, identifying appropriate boundary conditions and verify model convergence.\nLearning how simulation results are validated with test and field data, and how gaps are investigated.\nParticipating in prototype builds, equipment integration, and engineering tests\nHelping to collect, organize, and analyze engineering test or performance data\nPreparing engineering documentation, reports, and presentations\nCollaborating with mechanical, magnetic, process, and manufacturing engineers on cross-functional tasks\nAbout you:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline\nGood understanding of mechanical engineering or Physics fundamentals\nExposure to 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar)\nYour experience includes:\nHands-on experience with industrial and high-vacuum equipment development\nPractical exposure to thermal simulation and data-driven engineering validation\nExperience working in a professional engineering environment with mentorship\nInsight into how engineers contribute to advanced manufacturing equipment\nLocation:\nOur Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
