We are technology leaders in nano motion, precision measurement solutions, and automation system design and control.\nAbout the role - you will:\nSeagate is looking for a Software Engineering Summer Intern within our Equipment Development Organization in our design center in Shakopee, MN. This position will support the design, development, and qualification of software used to test recording heads and media. You will work with other software engineers in our department to develop and maintain automated test systems, enhance data analysis tools, and contribute to software solutions that improve the performance and reliability of our testing processes. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world engineering challenges and the opportunity to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers.\nAbout you:\nHave excellent verbal and written communication skills.\nBe able to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of engineers and technicians.\nWork hands-on with custom test equipment and tools such as signal generators and oscilloscopes.\nHave considerable judgment and motivation to complete actions.\nExpected to be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and be able to creatively solve problems as they arise. \nEnjoy multitasking and focusing on completing numerous projects.\nYour experience includes:\nProficient in C C++ or C# and/or proficient in Python.\nExperience developing software and contributing in a large code base in a team environment a plus.\nExperience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes a plus.\nWorking towards BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering and enrolled in Fall 2027 classes.\nLocation:\nOur Shakopee campus is located 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis in a setting with a rural vibe - it overlooks a horse racing track and stables, yet it has great entertainment venues close by as well. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.
