We utilize both traditional and novel process control methods and systems today, and are actively working to expand our usage of Advanced Process Control (APC) enabling algorithmic and automatic process control adjustments. We also develop and manage automated systems to control and disposition parts and to monitor and control process health.\nThis Intern will work with our team of Factory Controls Engineers, and Wafer Process Engineers in our Bloomington, MN facility. This internship will focus on enabling new methods of automated process controls on the wafer manufacturing equipment used to build the latest generation of recording heads that go into Seagate’s most advanced Hard Disc Drives (HDD)\nAbout the role - you will:\nFactory Automation\n\nProcess Optimization\n\nRoot Cause Analysis\n\nDesign and Execution of Experiments\n\nStatistical Data Analysis\n\nExperimentation for Process Chemical Qualifications\n\nProduction Machinery Installation and/or Debugging\n\nTechnical Support for Product Launches\n\nGauge Capability Studies\n\nProcess Documentation and Training\n\nAbout you:\nInterested in manufacturing/engineering as a potential career path\nYour experience includes:\nBS student pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, other engineering or related disciplines and must be enrolled in Fall 2027 classes.\nLocation:\nOur Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.
