We design, engineer, and deliver products and deployable technologies built for environments where traditional infrastructure falls short.\nPosition Overview:\nSealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is looking to hire a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team of engineers delivering cutting-edge solutions. You will be performing software development, hardware integration, cybersecurity engineering, and mission support in mostly unclassified spaces in support of our warfighters.\nYou will be engineering a complex automation framework, written primarily in Ansible and Python, that deploys Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) hunt kits to physical hardware. You will architect and develop custom Ansible modules, roles, and collections that automate networking, server hardware, operating systems, containers, and software, building a cohesive and integrated environment for cyber defenders.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nLead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of complex Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections to automate the deployment of Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) hunt kits. This includes automation of kit infrastructure, configuration, and application deployment across diverse environments.\nDesign and develop custom Ansible modules and plugins in Python, applying sound software engineering practices such as modular design, error handling, and documentation.\nCollaborate with software development teams across the company to create highly parameterized Ansible that aligns the software product stack, transforming project requirements into robust automation solutions.\nConfigure and automate physical hardware and network appliances, such as servers, switches, routers, and firewalls, using Ansible.\nImplement security controls, including STIG hardening and SELinux, within the automation pipeline to ensure “secure by default” deployments.\nBuild and maintain CI/CD GitHub Actions pipelines that perform extensive automated linting, unit, and integration testing of automation code.\nEstablish coding standards, code review practices, and testing strategies for the automation codebase, and mentor other engineers.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to ensure technology standards, security controls, and engineering practices are well understood and consistently applied.\nPartner with internal teams to deliver technical demonstrations and showcase SealingTech capabilities to customers.\nIdentify and define high-level functional and technical requirements by working with the user community and leveraging knowledge of existing DoD enterprise architectures.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nU.S. Citizenship\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered\n8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer and/or Automation Engineer\nExpert proficiency in Ansible; including and not limited to:\nWriting, testing, and maintaining Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, and custom modules, with a deep understanding of Jinja2 and configuration management\nLeveraging Ansible Galaxy for reusable components and Ansible Vault for managing sensitive data\nUtilizing Ansible for configuring and automating physical hardware and network appliances (e.g., servers, switches, routers, firewalls)\nStrong analytical and debugging abilities to resolve complex issues within automation workflows.\n\nStrong proficiency in Python for developing, testing, and packaging custom Ansible modules and plugins, and in Bash for scripting\nHands-on experience with RHEL-based Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, Oracle) including administration of drivers, firmware, file systems, networking, and security\nExperience with virtualization and container platforms (e.g., VMware, Kubernetes, Docker/Podman)\nStrong understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and methodologies and understanding of infrastructure security, hardening processes, techniques, and industry best practices\nExperience with network protocols, architecture design, and defense-in-depth practices\nUnderstanding of best practices for security patching, authentication, and log retention\nExperience operating within security frameworks to support compliance and auditing requirements\nExperience with Git/GitHub, code review workflows, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), and Agile (project management) workflows (Jira)\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and maintain engineering processes and procedures\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting Defensive Cyber Operations within Service Cyber Command elements or other U.S. Government organizations\nExperience with defensive cyber tools such as Security Onion, Splunk, Elastic, Zeek, pfSense, and related platforms\nSecurity certification such as CySA+ or CISSP\nAnsible certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation)\nRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)\nCompTIA Linux+\nSecret security clearance or ability to get it is preferred\nSealing Technologies is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status or any other protected status.
