{"id":1960056,"url":"https://alion.io/job/seamlesshr-collections-officer","title":"Collections Officer","company":{"id":177464,"name":"SeamlessHR","domain":"seamlesshr.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/seamlesshr","size_band":"11-50","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"SeamlessHiring","truth_index":null},"role":"Finance","role_family":"Finance","seniority":"junior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"hybrid","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"inferred","locations":[],"countries":[],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":2,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"WhatsApp","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-06T14:58:14Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-06","last_verified_at":"2026-10-27T19:12:19Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":21,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":21},"description":"The Collections Officer will be responsible for early-stage customer collections and delinquency resolution across Seamless Embedded Finance portfolio.\nThe primary objective is to intervene quickly when scheduled repayments fail, understand the reason for non-payment and help customers return their accounts to good standing before they progress into more serious delinquency.\nThis is primarily a telephone and digital collections role, supported by structured customer queues, repayment information and defined collections strategies.\nResponsibilities\nKey Responsibilities\nEarly-Stage Collections\nContact customers immediately following failed or missed repayments.\nManage assigned daily collections queues according to agreed priorities and SLAs.\nEstablish the reason for non-payment and agree appropriate next steps with customers.\nSecure and monitor promises-to-pay.\nFollow up consistently until accounts are cured or meet defined escalation criteria.\nSupport customers in accessing available alternative repayment channels.\nPayroll & Employment Exceptions\nContact customers whose expected payroll deductions were not received.\nIdentify whether missed collections result from salary timing, employment exit, insufficient salary, payroll issues or other circumstances.\nEscalate employer/payroll-related issues for investigation.\nSupport customers who have changed employers or left payroll in transitioning to alternative repayment arrangements.\nDelinquency Management\nManage accounts across assigned early-stage delinquency buckets.\nEscalate accounts according to established treatment and recovery rules.\nIdentify customers requiring alternative repayment arrangements or specialist intervention.\nRefer qualifying accounts for later-stage/external recovery according to agreed procedures.\nCustomer Communication\nMaintain professional, respectful and compliant communication with customers.\nClearly explain outstanding obligations, repayment options and consequences of continued delinquency.\nUse approved telephone, WhatsApp/SMS, email and other communication channels.\nMaintain accurate records of all customer interactions and agreed actions.\nData & Reporting\nRecord collection outcomes, customer responses, promises-to-pay and reason codes accurately.\nMaintain complete and current account notes.\nProvide insight into recurring causes of repayment failure.\nFlag unusual customer, employer or repayment patterns to the Portfolio Performance & Collections Lead.\nSupport portfolio and collections reporting as required.\nKey Performance Indicators\nPerformance will be assessed primarily on outcomes rather than activity volumes, including:\nCure rate\nAmount collected / recovered\nPromise-to-pay kept rate\nContact-to-payment conversion\nEarly-stage roll rate\nSpeed to first contact following failed repayment\nResolution of payroll-break cases\nCollections queue/SLA adherence\nAccuracy and completeness of account records\nQuality/compliance of customer interactions\nCall volumes may be monitored operationally but will not be treated as the primary measure of collections effectiveness.\nRequirements\n2 - 4 years' experience in collections, consumer lending, loan operations, customer recovery or a related financial-services role.\nExperience in fintech, digital lending, microfinance or retail banking is preferred.\nStrong telephone communication and negotiation skills.\nComfortable handling difficult customer conversations professionally.\nGood numerical and problem-solving ability.\nStrong attention to detail and record keeping.\nComfortable using CRM, collections or loan-management systems.\nAbility to work with daily targets and structured queues while maintaining customer-treatment standards.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nWe want people who are persistent without being aggressive.\nA strong collections officer should be able to understand why a repayment failed, determine the most appropriate route to cure it and maintain disciplined follow-up until the account is resolved.\nThe objective is not simply to make calls.
