Reporting to the CFO, you'll own core accounting operations while helping strengthen our systems, processes, and controls as we scale, with a growth path toward Controller as the role and the company mature.\nWe're a venture-backed company with hardware manufacturing, software, government contracts, and field operations running around the world, so this role touches a lot of ground. We're looking for someone who can run a strong accounting function and genuinely enjoys getting into the details themselves. You'll own areas like the month-end close, accounting operations, and audit support while helping us mature our ERP and broader finance infrastructure.\nIn your first year, you'll help move Seasats to a scalable finance organization: making the close faster and more reliable, strengthening controls, improving the quality of financial information available to leadership, and helping establish effective manufacturing and government-contract accounting processes.\nRole Details:\nOwn and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process\nPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements\nMaintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and consistently\nOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash reconciliations, fixed assets, and other accounting operations\nDevelop accounting procedures and internal controls appropriate for a rapidly scaling company\nSupport inventory, manufacturing, work-in-process, and cost accounting as our production operations grow\nSupport accounting and compliance requirements associated with government contracts\nSupport budgeting, cash forecasting, and management reporting\nParticipate in the implementation and continued development of the company's ERP and related financial systems\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes and improve data quality\nHelp build the accounting team and finance function as Seasats grows\nAbout You:\nYou have:\n5+ years of progressive accounting experience\nExperience with operating company accounting, public accounting, and/or fractional or outsourced accounting roles\nExperience working for, advising, or auditing a company in the defense, aerospace, government contracting, or a closely related industry\nExperience working in an organization subject to external financial statement audits, with a strong understanding of audit preparation and supporting documentation\nExperience owning or playing a significant role in month-end close\nAbility to operate effectively in an environment where processes are still being built and responsibilities can evolve quickly\nStrong attention to detail combined with the judgment to identify which issues actually matter\nAbility to work independently, investigate unfamiliar accounting issues, and recommend practical solutions\nStrong communication skills and comfort working directly with executives and cross-functional teams\nBonus points if you have:\nA CPA or are a CPA candidate\nPublic accounting experience\nExperience participating in an ERP implementation, migration, or major accounting-system redesign\nManufacturing, inventory, or cost-accounting experience\nExperience with venture-backed or high-growth companies\nFamiliarity with FAR, DFARS, DCAA, government contract accounting, or related compliance requirements\nExperience building accounting procedures and internal controls in a growing organization\nDue to export control requirements applicable to this position, we are only able to consider U.S. persons, as defined by U.S. export control laws.
