# Port Engineer, Electrical

The Port Engineer, Electrical and Automation has the primary accountability for the maintenance and repair of the electrical and automation aspect of Seaspan Ferries in service vessels including the LNG and Hybrid-electric vessels. Daily work of the Port Engineer, Electrical and Automation will involve responding to and diagnosing engineering problems on board vessels, providing, and implementing repair recommendations, managing, and overseeing the planned maintenance program for electrical work, coordinating, and initiating work orders for vessel refits, and providing guidance and mentorship for the shipboard engineers. Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 7700 Hopcott Road, Delta. What you’ll do Responds to electrical issues reported by the vessel crew or the on-board engineer, identifies the accuracy of the report, and assesses if repairs can be conducted while the vessel is in service. If the nature of the repair requires the vessel to be removed from service, establishes the estimated downtime from internal and external sources, and collaborates a workable schedule with the customer service department.
