The internship in short
The programme kicks off with an engaging Introduction Week, where you’ll get to know SEB, meet professionals across the CIB division, get to know other interns and start building your network. During the introduction you will participate in learning and networking activities. Throughout the internship, you will be involved in daily business activities. We wrap up the experience with a Closing Day to reflect on, share, and celebrate your internship journey.
As an intern, you are recruited to The FX Quant Team within FICC Markets - a global business area offering top-tier services in Foreign Exchange across major financial hubs like Stockholm, London, New York, and Hong Kong. You will be tasked with a real project that will either be based on a new strategy or an improvement on an existing one. You will be guided by at least one tutor during the internship.

About the position
You will be joining a team of Quantitative Traders and be based in Stockholm. The FX Spot Quant team are responsible for pricing, trade execution and risk management for the FX spot product. This is done through a combination of statistics, optimization and machine learning where the goal is to take as many decisions algorithmically as possible to increase the speed and scale of the decisions one can make in a day.
As an intern you will gain hands-on experience at the intersection of quantitative development and financial markets, by using programming, problem-solving and mathematical skills on real-world problems. You will be working closely with all parts of the organization, including Sales, Trading and Technology and are encouraged to make real contributions to our trading.
Who are you?
You are likely on your way to a M.Sc in engineering or natural science, with a passion for problem solving, mathematics and programming. Also, you are fluent in both written and spoken English.
As a person, you are motivated by working in an ever-changing landscape where the cumulative effect of frequent small improvements makes a real difference over time.
You are an open-minded and committed candidate with a collaborative spirit and strong work ethic, have good communication skills, and the ability to work independently with confidence.
