For the expansion of our team, we are seeking to hire in Geneva a dynamic and motivated Power Electronics R&D Engineer.\nMain tasks:\nInvestigate emerging power electronics technologies for railway, DC microgrid, \nindustrial, energy, and advanced electrification applications. \nSupport feasibility studies, proof-of-concept developments, and innovation \nprojects. \nDevelop simulation models and test methodologies. \nIdentify opportunities for performance improvements and cost optimization. \nContribute to intellectual property generation and technology roadmaps. \nSupport Business Development in identifying new applications for fast-switching \ncircuit breakers and defining the corresponding product requirements. \nDefine and evaluate power semiconductor devices and converter topologies. \nPerform simulations of switching behavior, losses, thermal performance, and \nfault scenarios for different topologies. \nSupport hardware development, laboratory validation, and technology \ndemonstrators.\nContribute to design reviews, technical documentation, validation and project milestones. \nSupport development and improvement of existing HSCB and fast DC protection \nproducts. \nAnalyze field issues and propose technical solutions. \nCooperate with mechanical, thermal, system, and test engineers. \nSupport industrialization and product maintenance activities when required. \nSupport the development and maintenance of HSCB electronic hardware, software, Eco-Drive, and coil controller solutions. \nRequirements\nMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field. \nStrong knowledge of power electronics and power semiconductor switching technologies. \nExperience with power semiconductor devices, including IGBT, GTO, MOSFET, and SiC technologies. \nExperience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, LTspice, or equivalent. \nKnowledge of power electronics laboratory testing and measurement techniques. \nGood understanding of thermal, electrical, and system-level design considerations. \nAbility to work within multidisciplinary R&D teams. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in DC protection systems or circuit breaker technologies. \nExperience in railway, industrial power systems, renewable energy, e-mobility, or DC microgrid applications. \nFamiliarity with EMC, insulation coordination, and safety requirements. \nExperience with control algorithms and embedded control systems. \nKnowledge of reliability analysis and design-for-manufacturing principles.\nBenefits\nWe foster flat hierarchies and direct communication, enabling quick decisions and strong collaboration across all levels.
