We’re committed to quality, innovation, and providing a clean, well-organized workplace where skilled machinists can thrive.\nWe are currently seeking an experienced Walter CNC Set-Up Operator to join our team.\nPosition Overview\nThe Walter CNC Set-Up Operator is responsible for setting up, proving out, operating, and performing program adjustments on Walter CNC tool & cutter grinding machines to produce precision round cutting tools. This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and hands-on experience grinding carbide and/or HSS tools to print.\nKey Responsibilities\nSet up and operate Walter CNC tool & cutter grinders (e.g., Helitronic series) for round tool production\nRead and interpret blueprints, tool drawings, and engineering specifications\nLoad programs, make offsets, and perform minor edits to ensure tool geometry accuracy\nPerform first-piece inspection and in-process checks using appropriate measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical equipment, etc.)\nMonitor machine performance and tool quality, making necessary adjustments\nMaintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles\nTroubleshoot machine issues and work with maintenance/engineering as needed\nComplete production paperwork and maintain accurate records\nFollow all safety procedures and hazard reporting and company quality standards\nQualifications\n Required:Experience setting up and operating Walter CNC tool & cutter grinding machines\nStrong understanding of round tool geometry (end mills, drills, step tools, etc.)\nAbility to read technical drawings and GD&T\nProficiency using precision measurement tools\nMechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment\n\nPreferred:Experience with Walter/HMC software and/or Siemens control interfaces\nBackground in manufacturing carbide tools\nBasic understanding of G-code\nPrevious experience in a high-mix, low-volume tool grinding environment\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand for extended periods\nAbility to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally\nManual dexterity for handling small precision parts\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive pay based on experience\nHealth, dental, and vision benefits\nPaid time off and holidays\nGender Neutral Paid Parental Leave - 14 weeks at 90% of wage\nRetirement plan options - 5% employer contribution plus a 3% employer match on 6% employee contribution\nOpportunities for skill development and internal advancement\nSupportive team environment\nSeco Tools, a subsidy of Sandvik is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
