Our Denver-based group works on large and complex commercial damages matters involving misappropriations of assets, post-acquisition disputes, forensic accounting investigations, and a myriad of other domestic and international disputes. These cases will give successful candidates exposure to unique, complex, interesting issues, often integrating finance, accounting, economics, and legal principles. \nRESPONSIBILITIES \nExceptional analytical skills, solid quantitative training, remarkable communication skills, and creativity are the foundation for successful Associates at Secretariat. Additional responsibilities are as follows. \nConduct economic, financial, accounting, and industry research \nAnalyze financial and non-financial information, and summarize and report findings to team members and to clients \nAssist with the preparation of expert reports (damages, forensic accounting, and construction quantum reports) \nAssist with the preparation of rebuttal expert reports evaluating the conclusions of other experts \nCommunicate with clients and counsel \nPrepare for and attend hearings, trials and mediations \nManage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements \nQUALIFICATIONS \nRequisite professional designations and work experience: \nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar, from an accredited university or college \n1+ years of prior experience in economic damages and/or forensic accounting preferred \nPrior experience at one of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms would be an asset \nPursuing CPA, CFF, CFA, CFE, or ABV credentials is a plus \nAble to develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems \nAble to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations \nAble to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure \nAbility to analyze and interpret financial records and capital market data. \nExcellent listening, verbal, written, and presentation skills \nWorking proficiency in a second non-English language is a plus \nThe ability to travel as needed \nAt Secretariat, we believe in pay transparency and equity.
