You will be engaged in analysing failures of a myriad of products from a variety of industries from automotive, construction, consumer products, consumer electronics and medical devices to name a few. Secretariat leverages our diverse technical expertise, and industry knowledge of a variety of structures and products to provide clients with world-class value to identify solutions that drive performance and safety. \nRESPONSIBILITIES \nExceptional analytical skills, problem solving, communication skills, and creativity are the foundation for successful professionals at Secretariat.\nConduct hands-on failure analysis investigations\nContribute to cross-discipline investigations spanning multiple time zones\nAdvise clients on the design, evaluation, and performance of electrical components, PCB layouts, power systems, and control systems, leveraging CAD-based analysis and review tools. Develop test plans, and conduct experiments (such as simulation, validation, and performance tests) to diagnose faults, potential failures and, ensure reliability and performance.\nAssist with field inspections\nPrepare technically detailed documentation, including technical reports and schematics with a cross discipline team.\nAdvising on global regulatory compliance and best manufacturing practices across relevant industries such as; automotive and consumer electronics.\nConduct root cause analysis of failures involving battery systems, battery management systems (BMS), battery energy storage systems (BESS), electric vehicles (EVs), power electronics, and consumer electronic products. Perform proactive engineering assessments, including evaluating design adequacy, identifying latent risks, and assessing whether alternative engineering decisions or mitigations could have prevented or reduced issues.\nCommunicate with clients, and counsel\nAssist with the preparation of technical reports\nDevelop positive relationships with colleagues, peers, and clients\nParticipate in the preparation of hearings, trials, and mediations\nManage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements\nProvide project management and project budget oversight\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequisite professional designations and work experience: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or related science.\nExperience applying electrical and power systems engineering principles across battery systems, battery management systems (BMS), battery energy storage systems (BESS), electric vehicles (EVs), power electronics, and consumer electronics. Experience working with electrical systems, power electronics or electrochemical storage technologies in a laboratory or applied engineering environment.\nDemonstrated proficiency with CAD and analytical tools, including Altium, SPICE, and MATLAB, to support engineering analysis, design review, and technical investigations would be advantageous.\nExperience designing and executing experimental and test programmes, including circuit-level prototyping, validation testing, and the use of electrical diagnostic and measurement equipment\nExperience assessing failure mechanisms alongside system-level design and operational decisions in real-world industrial applications. Excellent verbal and written communication\nIntellectual curiosity with a passion to investigate and explore a vast array of problems, both within and outside of their area of technical specialization\nStrong deductive reasoning skills\nAble to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations and develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems\nThe desire to lead tasks associated with a growing practice within a rapidly growing firm\nThe ability to travel as-needed\nPrevious industry experience or consulting experience is highly valued\nDual language fluency valued, but not required\n\nSecretariat is an equal opportunity employer.
