You will be engaged in analyzing failures of a myriad of products from a variety of industries, but with a heavy focus on large industrial facilities like power plants, Oil & Gas facilities, chemical processing plants, construction, and similar. Furthermore, Secretariat was recently ranked as the #1 firm in Global Arbitration Review’s prestigious GAR 100 Expert Witness Firms’ Power Index, and more than 90% of Secretariat’s leading experts are recognized as leading experts in their field by the independent Lexology rankings.\nRESPONSIBILITIES \nExceptional analytical skills, problem solving, communication skills, and creativity are the foundation for successful professionals at Secretariat.\nConducting hands-on failure analysis investigations\nPlanning and executing laboratory tests\nConducting field inspections\nCommunicate with clients, and counsel\nAssist with the preparation of critique reports examining the conclusions of other experts\nAssist with the preparation of technical reports\nDevelop positive relationships with colleagues, peers and clients\nPrepare for and attend hearings, trials and mediations\nManage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequisite professional designations and work experience:\nPhD in Mechanical Engineering, or related field\nOr a MS degree and 5+ years of prior experience in engineering consulting\nExcellent verbal and written communication\nSpecialized knowledge of materials characterization techniques like SEM, EDS, XPS, Auger, SIMS, FTIR, X-ray\nStrong expert report writing skills to complement analytics\nAble to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations and develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems\nThe ability to manage and prioritize your time and your team’s time, potentially against a backdrop of competing deadlines\nExcellent analytical and problem solving abilities\nExcellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills\nThe desire to lead, auxiliary tasks associated with a growing practice within a rapidly growing firm\nThe ability to travel as-needed\nApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future\nSecretariat is an equal opportunity employer.
