As a people leader, you will set the culture, lead and develop facility teams, oversee training and competencies, and monitor operational performance, KPIs, and business requirements.\nYou will work closely with the General Manager, Operations, to support operational excellence, ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements, and effectively communicate critical information across the Area.\nThis position will oversee SECURE’s Peace River, Rainbow Lake, Valleyview and High Prairie waste processing facilities.\nThe Team\nYou’ll be part of SECURE’s operations leadership team, providing direction and oversight to facility teams across the Area. You will set the tone for a culture focused on safety, operational excellence, customer service, collaboration, and accountability. Through your leadership, you will ensure SECURE’s mission, vision, and values are reflected in the day-to-day operations across the Area.\nWork Environment\nThis is a field-based role that operates primarily on a Monday-to-Friday schedule, with the expectation of being available to support occasional on-call and emergency operational needs. The position requires regular travel between the Peace River, Rainbow Lake, and High Prairie facilities, along with flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as business needs require. Candidates must be prepared to work in challenging environments, including outdoors in all weather conditions and in support of emergency response requirements.\nA Day in The Life\nOperational Management\nOversee the safe, effective, and efficient day-to-day operations of SECURE’s waste processing facilities.\nMonitor facility throughput, KPIs, performance metrics, and daily volume balances.\nProvide operational guidance and troubleshooting support to Operators.\nIdentify opportunities to optimize resources, improve processes, and enhance operational efficiency.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nProvide guidance, training, coaching, and support to ensure employees perform their duties effectively and safely.\nOversee employee orientations, competency assessments, required training, and safety tickets.\nOversee staffing, workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and employee development.\nHealth, Safety & Environmental Management\nLead by example in promoting SECURE’s safety culture and environmental stewardship.\nEnsure employees and contractors follow SECURE’s policies, Code of Practice, Life Saving Rules, and applicable regulations.\nOversee hazard assessments, Safe Work Permits, safety meetings, incident investigations, emergency response planning, audits, and required documentation.\nCustomer Relations & Business Performance\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, regulatory authorities, municipalities, and community members.\nSupport operational budgets, forecasts, cost management, and opportunities to improve performance and profitability.\nMaintain effective communication with the General Manager, Operations, regarding operational performance, challenges, and business priorities.\nSkills, Experience & Qualifications\nGrade 12 Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in waste management facilities, industrial landfills, pipeline operations, or a related industry.\nValid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.\nValid industry safety tickets and certifications.\nAbility to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nProven ability to provide effective leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to staff.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, company applications, and corporate safety systems.\nStrong operational knowledge and the ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and resolve issues effectively.\nWhat's in it for you\nAt SECURE, we focus on opportunities for growth and improvement; for our employees, our customers, our partners, and the communities we operate in.
