You will help implement SECURE’s HSE Management System, strengthen proactive safety practices, and work closely with operations, contractors, and HSE team members to promote safe, compliant, and consistent work environments. This role is ideal for an experienced HSE professional who enjoys being visible in the field and making a practical and meaningful impact.\nThis role is based out of Leduc, Alberta\nThe Team\nYou will join a collaborative Specialty Chemicals team that values strong partnerships, open communication, and a proactive approach to health and safety. Working closely with operations and HSE professionals, you will help build strong relationships and support a culture where everyone takes ownership of safety.\nWork Environment\nThis is a field-focused role based in Leduc, Nisku, and the surrounding area, with regular on-site engagement across Specialty Chemicals operations. You will work directly with employees, leaders, contractors, and third-party service providers to support hazard identification, safe work practices, training, inspections, incident prevention, and the consistent application of SECURE’s HSEMS.\nA Day in The Life\nEffectively implement SECURE’S HSE Management System (HSEMS) in alignment with SECURE values and culture, and in compliance with all legislative requirements.\nProvide HSE support for operations and interface on HSE matters with all levels of operations and HSE personnel.\nSupport a proactive approach to safety management and loss prevention and provide value to the organization.\nMaintain a high level of on-site field support (Leduc/Nisku and area).\nStrong in supporting core HSE systems including Site Hazard Assessment, Field Level Hazard Assessment, Safe Work Permits, site orientations, facilitating training, tracking of safety tickets, emergency response plan(s), facility inspections, hazard hunts, coaching safe work/behavior practices, safety meetings/toolbox talks, hazard identification and control, incident reporting and investigation.\nEnsuring communication and consistency is maintained through active engagement in safety meetings, Ops/HSE calls, and general safety communications.\nCollaborating with SECURE personnel & third-party contractors to align SECURE’s safety program with their requirements, ensuring compliance and meeting mutual expectations.\nAssisting in updating and maintaining components of the HSEMS as requested.\nContinually progress personal development, specifically maintaining up-to-date safety tickets and related training.\nProviding additional support as required.\nSkills, Experience & Qualifications\nA minimum of 3 years' experience in industry-related HSE operations: chemical blending, oilfield (drilling, completions, production), pipelines, construction/trades, welding/fabricating, rail/trans-loading, pulp & paper laboratory processes or any other heavy industry or chemical processing-related industry.\nHands-on experience supporting HSE functions and implementing HSE initiatives at large commercial/industrial/facility construction projects involving multiple third-party contractors, sub-contractors and/or trades.\nOHS Certificate, CRSP or NCSO designation (or actively working towards one of these designations).\nWorking knowledge of safety management systems and safe work practices\nPractical knowledge and experience in supporting proactive safety and helping build a strong proactive safety culture \nA strong understanding of the HSE regulatory process and principles\nAbility to communicate, multi-task, prioritize and work well with multiple stakeholders on-site and within SECURE Specialty Chemicals division\nStrong ability to communicate, build working relationships within the organization as well as with external stakeholders, vendors, and contractors\nHigh proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), web-based Safety Management Systems (ITrak)/Power BI\nDirect operational experience in one (or more) of the following industries.Chemical Blending or Chemical Processing-related industry.\nOilfield; Drilling, Completions, Production\nPipelines\nConstruction, Trades\nWelding/Fabrication\nRail/Trans-loading\nPulp and Paper\nLarge Laboratory Processes\nOther heavy industries not already mentioned.\n\nThe following are considered assets in this role: (including but not limited to)\nMaintain Training and Tickets in:\nSafety Leadership \nStandard First Aid and CPR\nWHMIS\nTDG\nH2S Alive\nConfined Space Entry\nGround Disturbance\nFall Protection\nRigging/Hoisting\nMobile Equipment\nIncident Investigation \nExperience in on-site third-party contractor management and SIMPOS will be an asset in this role.\nWhat's in it for you\nAt SECURE, we focus on opportunities for growth and improvement for our employees, our customers, our partners, and the communities we operate in.
