Working with senior stakeholders from across the business, you'll play a key role in turning our Enterprise Data Strategy into reality, helping to create a strong, governed data foundation that supports everything from regulatory reporting and operational excellence to advanced analytics and future AI capabilities.\n\nLead, develop and inspire the Data Engineering function, fostering a high-performing team culture and engineering excellence. \nDrive the delivery, adoption and continuous enhancement of the Azure Databricks Enterprise Data Platform. \nEstablish a sustainable in-house data engineering capability, ensuring effective knowledge transfer from strategic partners. \nDevelop scalable and reusable data ingestion, transformation and CI/CD frameworks to support efficient platform delivery. \nDeliver trusted, governed data products through a modern medallion architecture, ensuring high standards of quality, security and resilience. \nCollaborate with Architecture and Data Governance teams to embed robust data models, lineage, ownership and control frameworks. \nPartner with business leaders across Finance, Credit Risk, Operations and Savings to deliver data solutions that support strategic and regulatory objectives. \nPrioritise engineering activity across business change, regulatory commitments and operational demands, providing clear visibility of risks and dependencies. \nBuild team capability through coaching, mentoring, structured development and Databricks-focused training and accreditation. \nManage technology partners, platform performance and service delivery, while supporting the retirement of legacy data solutions and reporting processes.What we`re looking for\n\nProven experience leading and developing high-performing Data Engineering teams within a complex organisation. \nStrong expertise in Azure Databricks, cloud data platforms and modern lakehouse architectures. \nDeep understanding of data engineering best practices, including ETL/ELT, data pipelines, orchestration and data product delivery. \nExperience embedding data governance, quality, lineage, security and auditability into engineering solutions. \nAbility to translate data and technology strategy into tangible business value, customer outcomes and commercial impact. \nExcellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences. \nExperience managing third-party suppliers and leading the transition from partner-led delivery to internal ownership and capability. \nA track record of delivering results in a regulated environment, balancing strategic change, operational priorities and resource constraints.\nEveryone is different.
