Services include technical analysis, system design, software development, implementation, training, and ongoing technical support for field operations.\nThe Junior Biometrics Software Engineer - BCS will report to the Software Development Manager and work as part of a collaborative team of software engineers, DevOps engineers, QA engineers, and business analysts. This role is responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting biometric software solutions used for identity verification, biometric enrollment, matching, and integration with immigration and border management systems.\nThis is a hands-on technical role, and candidates should be prepared to demonstrate relevant experience and technical expertise.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain biometric software applications and services across web and Windows-based platforms.\nAssist in implementing biometric processing solutions, including fingerprint, facial recognition, and identity management technologies.\nParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.\nDevelop and maintain APIs, services, and applications that support biometric data processing and system integration.\nSupport integration of biometric hardware devices such as fingerprint scanners, cameras, and enrollment stations.\nTroubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and integration challenges.\nApply secure coding practices and contribute to maintaining system security, reliability, and scalability.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support immigration and border security operations globally.\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high development standards and code quality.\nSupport CI/CD processes using GitHub, Azure DevOps, and related development tools.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions and integrations.\nRequired Skills & Experience\n3 to 5 years of experience in software development using C# and .NET technologies.\nExperience developing applications using .NET Framework, .NET Core, or modern .NET platforms.\nExposure to biometric technologies such as fingerprint, facial recognition, iris recognition, or identity verification systems.\nExperience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.\nWorking knowledge of SQL Server, database design, and query optimization.\nExperience developing secure applications and understanding application security best practices.\nFamiliarity with integrating third-party SDKs, hardware devices, or external systems.\nExperience using GitHub or similar source control systems.\nStrong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred / Nice to Have\nExperience working with biometric SDKs, ABIS/AFIS systems, or identity management platforms.\nFamiliarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts.\nExperience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.\nKnowledge of biometric industry standards such as NIST, ICAO, ANSI, or ISO.\nExperience working in government, homeland security, immigration, border management, or law enforcement technology environments.\nFamiliarity with cloud-based technologies and containerized applications.\nExperience developing Windows desktop applications and services.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.\n3 to 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and professional experience may be considered.\n\nWhy This Role\nWork on mission-critical systems impacting global security\nExposure to modern tech stack (React, Blazor, APIs, microservices)\nStrong collaboration with experienced engineering teams\nOpportunity to grow into senior-level engineering roles\nThis position has no travel requirements.\nThis position is fully on-site with no remote option.\n#LI-NA1\nSecuriport is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
