In addition to providing training, job functions may include problem resolution, service enhancement, and process improvement as it pertains to safety and training. The field training officer reports directly to the campus security manager, and will work closely with other site, regional, and headquarter leadership. This position will have no direct reports but will work closely with campus leadership to assess employee, site, and campus needs.\nEssential functions:\nServes as primary point of contact for onboarding and sustainment training.\n\nTrains and certifies new security personnel and maintains required training documentation, asking for assistance from Administrative Officers (AOs) as needed.\n\nSpends a portion of the day in the field conducting in person training with security personnel.\nResponsible for tracking training completion.\n\nPrioritizes safety awareness among the campus team and champions safety initiatives developed at the global and regional program level.\n\nCoordinates with local leadership and headquarters training team to develop site plans, roll out training, etc.\n\nEnsures all site personnel adhere to policies and standard operating procedures.\n\nRecommends onboarding and training scheduled in accordance with training needs for security staff to the site and campus security managers.\n\nAssists with audit compliance as it relates to training.\n\nConducts recurring audits and prepares and submits critical and confidential information to campus leadership.\n\nMaintains required training and safety documentation, ensuring accuracy in accordance with established policies and procedures.\n\nProvides feedback on competence, compliance, and morale to campus site leadership.\nPerforms additional tasks assigned by management.\n\nIdentifies security shortfalls and offers suggestions from improving the security program.\n\nEvaluates and escalates potential safety issues within the facility.\n\nRequired to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. Notify supervisor upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.\n\nIdentifies security shortfalls and offers suggestions from improving the security program.\n\nThe functions listed describe the business purpose of this job. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.\n\nRequirements\nEducation / Experience:\nGrade 12/ Matric.\n\nDegree/Diploma in Training/Business Management.\n\n4 or more years of experience in the security industry and/or business management.\n\nPsira Grade A.\n\n2 years of training experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.\n\nExperience in data centers and training development preferred.\n\nMinimum hiring standards:\nMust be at least 18 years of age.\n\nMust have a reliable means of communication, such as cell phone.\n\nMust have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).\n\nMust have the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.\n\nMust have a high school diploma, secondary education equivalent, or GED.\n\nMust be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.\n\nSpecial requirements:\nAble to work a flexible schedule, including evening, weekend, and holiday hours.\n\nAble to travel as required, up to 50% of the time, occasionally with limited notice.\n\nCompetencies:\nHighly motivated, energetic, self-directed individual with analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, sharing technical concepts to a varied audience.\n\nHigh attention to detail.\n\nConfident in delivering classroom and field training in an engaging and professional manner.\n\nAbility to communicate effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.\n\nCapable of learning a variety of security and safety devices and controls.\n\nAbility to track and maintain schedule assignments.\n\nAbility to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.\n\nStrong oral and written communication skills.
