posting is for an existing vacancy or vacancies and remains open until filled\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nObserves and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, its assets, and personnel.\nMakes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protective devices and fire control equipment.\nPreserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.\nControls access to client sites or facility through the admittance process.\nPatrols assigned sites on foot or in vehicles; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.\nSatisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.\nMonitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.\nUse computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic training.\nMaintains focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment, which includes noise from alarms, machinery and people, crowd distractions, time pressure, in order to preserve the professional ability to identify and locate potentially life-threatening situations and make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations.\nProtect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.\nConducts inbound/outbound package inspections.\nResponds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for the site and commensurate with their level of training.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nMust have valid provincial Security Guard License\nWorking knowledge of security operations and procedures\nProven excellent English language skills, both verbal and written\nStrong interpersonal and customer service skills\nExcellent organizational skills\nAbleto write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.\nBasic computer skills such as the ability to use Microsoft Office.\nAble to conduct lengthy interior and exterior patrols, climbing stairs and walking up inclines\nMust have excellent customer service and communication skills.\nSensitive to the nature of the shelter and the experiences of residents\nAble to engage with residents in a respectful, non-judgmental manner\nAbility to
