You’ll help run the daily platform operation while driving long-term improvements in reliability, standardization, automation, and cost efficiency. We are a remote-first company with an office in Apex, NC for optional in-person collaboration.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn day-to-day platform operations across AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes environments. \nImprove reliability, scalability, and performance of systems supporting our learning platform. \nOperate and evolve multiple EKS clusters across production and non-production environments. \nBuild internal self-service tooling and engineering guardrails that help developers ship safely and independently. \nImprove CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and GitOps practices with ArgoCD. \nDrive observability improvements using DataDog, including dashboards, alerting, and incident response readiness. \nPartner with software engineers, QA, product, and security teams to remove friction and increase delivery velocity. \nLead infrastructure changes end-to-end using Terraform and modern IaC practices. \nReduce operational toil through automation, standardization, and thoughtful platform design. \nParticipate in an on-call rotation focused on ownership, reliability, and continuous improvement. \nMentor teammates through collaboration, code review, and operational best practices. \nOur Environment\nWe run a modern cloud-native stack with room to improve and meaningful ownership opportunities.\nInfrastructure & Platform\nAWS \nKubernetes / EKS \nTerraform \nArgoCD \nGitHub Actions \nDataDog \nData & MessagingPostgreSQL \nRedis \nKafka \nLanguages & App StackGo \nPython \nRuby \nReact\nWhat We’re Looking ForRequired\n5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related infrastructure roles. \nStrong hands-on experience operating production workloads in AWS. \nStrong Kubernetes experience (EKS preferred). \nExperience managing infrastructure with Terraform or equivalent IaC tooling. \nExperience building or owning CI/CD systems. \nStrong troubleshooting skills across networking, containers, distributed systems, and production incidents. \nAbility to balance immediate operational needs with long-term engineering improvements. \nStrong written communication and comfort working in a remote-first environment. \nU.S. citizenship and U.S.-based residency. \n Nice to HaveExperience with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD preferred). \nExperience with Datadog or modern observability platforms. \nExperience supporting SOC 2 or regulated environments. \nExperience with Kafka, PostgreSQL, or Redis in production. \nProgramming experience in Go or Python. \nExperience building internal developer platforms or self-service tooling. \nWhat Success Looks Like in Your First Year\nBecome a trusted owner of day-to-day platform operations. \nReduce interruptions through automation and better platform workflows. \nImprove deployment consistency and developer self-service. \nStrengthen reliability, alerting, and incident readiness. \nHelp modernize legacy areas while keeping delivery fast and pragmatic. \nAbout Security Journey\nSecurity Journey is the Enterprise AI Training & Capability Platform, helping organizations build the skills to use AI better and more securely.
