In this role, you will conduct technical interviews, evaluating candidates' expertise in data engineering best practices, cloud architecture, and large-scale data solutions.\nThe ideal candidate has extensive experience designing and delivering scalable data platforms and possesses a strong understanding of data engineering principles across one or more major cloud providers, such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct 60-minute technical interviews for Senior Data Engineer candidates. \nEvaluate candidates' hands-on experience across modern data platforms and cloud-based data architectures. \nAssess technical depth, engineering best practices, problem-solving ability, and real-world project experience. \nExplore candidates' previous projects through detailed technical discussions and follow-up questions. \nEvaluate knowledge of data engineering principles, cloud architecture, scalability, security, governance, and performance optimization. \nAssess candidates' understanding of data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, and modern analytics platforms. \nAssess communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly. \nComplete structured interview scorecards and provide hiring recommendations after each interview. \nCollaborate with recruiters to ensure consistent evaluation standards. \nContribute to improving interview questions and technical assessment processes when needed. \nRequired Qualifications\n8+ years of commercial experience as a Data Engineer. \nStrong hands-on experience building and supporting data solutions on at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP). \nStrong understanding of modern data platform architectures, including Data Lakes, Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, and Analytics Platforms. \nExtensive experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines. \nStrong SQL skills and experience with data modelling, including facts, dimensions, star schemas, and semantic layers. \nExperience with Python for data processing, automation, and orchestration. \nExperience with distributed data processing technologies such as Apache Spark or equivalent frameworks. \nExperience implementing secure authentication, authorization, and data security patterns within cloud environments. \nAbility to evaluate both implementation details and high-level solution architecture. \nExcellent spoken English. \nAbility to conduct interviews professionally and provide objective candidate assessments. \nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience conducting technical interviews. \nCloud certifications from Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform. \nExperience with modern data technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse Analytics, or equivalent platforms. \nExperience with orchestration and transformation tools such as Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar technologies. \nExperience with CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code. \nExperience working in enterprise or highly regulated environments. \nTech Lead, Architect, or mentoring experience. \nExperience designing and delivering data platforms across multiple cloud providers. \nIdeal Candidate\nWe're looking for someone who is first and foremost an exceptional Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in designing, building, and operating enterprise-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP.
