This role is responsible for safeguarding the company’s platforms, infrastructure, data, and AI systems while ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory and national security requirements. The CISO will operate at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI innovation, and mission-critical deployments, enabling secure delivery of advanced capabilities to customers operating in high-stakes environments.\nThis leader will partner closely with engineering, product, legal, HR, and go-to-market teams to embed security and associated culture into every layer of the organization-from model and software development, data storage and handling to cloud infrastructure and customer deployments. The CISO will build, lead, and scale a high-performing security organization responsible for implementing and executing the company’s security strategy, ensuring consistent, measurable, and effective protection across public cloud, secure government cloud, on-premise, and edge environments, as well as continued Seekr’s compliance with key industry regulations and certifications, as well as identify new required ones based on business need.\nDuties and Responsibilities: \nDefine and execute the company’s overall information security strategy aligned with business and product objectives\nLead, mentor and scale a high-performing security team responsible for implementing and executing security programs and controls\nLead security architecture and engineering across public cloud, government cloud (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government), on-premise, and edge hardware environments\nExperience taking companies through end-to-end accreditation with relevant frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001, SOC 2), as well as maintaining existing (Seekr already holds a number of these)\nOversee security operations including threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring\nDesign and implement secure development practices, including for AI-assisted coding and model development workflows\nEnsure the security, integrity, and governance of training data, models, and AI outputs, including protection against adversarial threats and model exploitation\nPartner with product and engineering teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle and AI product lifecycle (data ingestion, labeling, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring)\nSecure deployments across diverse environments, including customer-hosted, air-gapped, and edge-based systems\nLead risk management efforts, including third-party/vendor risk and supply chain security\nAct as the primary security liaison for enterprise and government customers, including supporting audits, assessments, and accreditations, including maintaining Seekr’s Trust Center\nDevelop and maintain policies and procedures for operating in classified and unclassified environments\nDrive security awareness and training programs across the company\n Represent the company externally directly with customers, industry events, government engagements, and customer briefings as needed\nQualifications and Skills: \nMust-Have:\n10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (CISO, VP Security, or equivalent)\nAbility to obtain a U.S. security clearance\nExperience building and leading teams responsible for implementing and executing security programs at scale\nStrong experience securing public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) as well as secure government cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)\nDeep familiarity with AI-driven products and their full lifecycle, including data pipelines, labeling/annotation, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring\nStrong knowledge of government and defense security frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, CMMC), including security planning documentation\nProven experience building and operating security programs to serve both enterprise and government customers\nDeep understanding of modern security practices including zero trust architectures, identity and access management, and endpoint security\nExperience with secure software development practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines\nDemonstrated ability to lead incident response and manage high-severity security events\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives and government officials\nPreferred Qualifications:\nActive U.S. security clearance (Top Secret)\nPrevious experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO)\nExperience securing AI/ML systems against adversarial threats, model inversion, and data poisoning\nBackground in defense, intelligence, or national security environments\nExperience achieving and maintaining FedRAMP Authorization or similar government accreditations\nHands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and ensuring their secure use\nIndustry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent\nTrack record of scaling security organizations in high-growth technology companies\nExperience securing air-gapped and highly regulated environments\nExperience engaging in external thought leadership, including speaking at conferences or participating in industry forums\nAbout the Company: \nSeekr is a leader in explainable and trustworthy artificial intelligence designed to power mission-critical decisions in enterprises, government, and regulated industries.
