This hybrid Calgary role leads the delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable backend systems for data organization, permission management, auditability, and external integrations, while providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:\nDesign and architect complex software applications, components, and services within Evo's microservices environment. \nBuild, test, document, refactor, and operate scalable backend services using Python, FastAPI, Kubernetes, and GCP. \nDevelop reliable platform capabilities for data organization, permission management, auditability, and integrations with external platforms. \nEvaluate design alternatives and trade-offs, and communicate solutions that meet functional, security, performance, and scalability requirements. \nEstablish and promote software development methods, tools, standards, automated testing, and secure engineering practices across the team. \nPlan and coordinate releases across teams, ensuring quality, security, compliance, and effective stakeholder communication. \nDefine and deliver small projects or sub-projects, managing scope, schedules, risks, quality, resources, and stakeholder involvement. \nLead design and code reviews, improve existing processes and products, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. \nContribute occasionally to frontend platform and administrative capabilities using modern web technologies. \nTo be successful in this role, you should have:\nBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience. \nSeven or more years of experience in relevant software development roles. \nExperience designing, building, and maintaining scalable RESTful APIs, ideally using Python and FastAPI. \nStrong experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure and deploying services in Kubernetes-based containerized environments. \nExperience with microservices architecture, service design, observability, inter-service communication, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform. \nExperience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated tests across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers using tools such as Pytest and Playwright. \nFamiliarity with React and TypeScript, plus an interest in emerging development practices including AI-assisted or agent-driven workflows. \nAbility to work autonomously on complex issues, influence stakeholders, collaborate across functions, and communicate technical concepts clearly. \nCommitment to secure, privacy-conscious, and ethical engineering practices, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing. \nAdditional Information \nWork Mode= Hybrid\nPosting Close Date: 10/15/2026\n#LI-KV2\nOur Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion\nAt Seequent, we champion the uniqueness of each individual.
