About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA & Test Strategy Consultant to join our technology consultancy practice. In this role, you will lead the definition and execution of a modern, practical test strategy for a large-scale, cloud-native connected automotive platform.
Working on behalf of our firm, you will partner directly with client architects, DevOps teams, enterprise customer test units, and external suppliers to establish robust quality engineering practices. You will serve as the core test authority-translating high-level architectural requirements into automated pipelines, clear governance frameworks, and hands-on guidance for distributed engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Architecture: Define a comprehensive test strategy covering all test levels (unit, component, API, integration, system, non-functional, and end-to-end) aligned with cloud-native delivery models and modern DevOps workflows.
NFR & Testability Engineering: Establish clear Non-Functional Requirement (NFR) testability guidelines to ensure core products and custom service deliveries are testable, observable, diagnosable, and optimized for automated execution.
Hands-on Automation & CI/CD Integration: Work directly with DevOps and platform teams to build a working reference test suite, embed quality gates, and implement automated execution and aggregated traceability reporting within CI/CD pipelines.
Ownership & Responsibility Matrix: Define the formal responsibility split between core product-level testing and customer-specific delivery testing.
End-to-End & Integration Testing: Design and validate E2E customer delivery flows, encompassing custom configurations, third-party integrations, external systems, and critical business journeys.
Test Infrastructure & Enablement: Set requirements for test environments, test data management, anonymization, test isolation, disposable infrastructure, service virtualization (mocks/stubs), and automated observability.
Assessment & Risk Management: Audit existing product suites to identify testability gaps, systemic risks, and dependencies, formulating actionable improvement roadmaps.
Ecosystem Onboarding & Coaching: Author accessible onboarding guides and provide hands-on coaching for internal developers, customer test teams, and third-party suppliers regarding interface expectations, required test evidence, and quality standards.
