This role offers exposure to high school, collegiate, and hockey athletics while working within one of the region's premier sports medicine networks.\nPartner Organizations:\nSt. Rose High School (Belmar/Wall Township, NJ) A competitive high school athletic program with more than 20 sports and over 200 student-athletes.\nGeorgian Court University (Lakewood, NJ) An NCAA Division II institution with a growing athletic program focused on student-athlete wellness and performance.\nNJ Titans / Garden State Gamblers (Middletown & Brick, NJ) Youth and junior hockey organizations providing year-round opportunities for athlete care, injury prevention, and performance support.\nResponsibilities\nProvide coverage for athletic practices, competitions, tournaments, and events.\nAssess and manage athletic injuries and illnesses.\nAdminister first aid and emergency care when needed.\nSupport concussion baseline testing and return-to-play programs.\nConduct athlete screenings and injury prevention initiatives.\nCollaborate with coaches, athletic directors, physicians, and rehabilitation professionals.\nMaintain documentation and injury tracking records.\nAssist with sports medicine education and community outreach efforts.\nQualifications\nBachelor's Degree required\nNational Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) certification required\nCurrent Athletic Trainer state license (or eligibility for licensure) in New Jersey\nCurrent CPR certification required\nStrong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills\nAbility to work collaboratively with athletes, coaches, physicians, therapists, and athletic department personnel\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift patients using biomedical techniques frequently throughout the course of a work day/shift; must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds of weight alone.\nAbility to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a work day/shift.\nVisual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written direction.\nAbility to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.\nAbility to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and in the community.\nFine motor skills adequate for scheduling and preparing athletes, equipment, and supplies for treatment.\nAbility to participate in sustained activities for many hours in duration in accordance with state labor laws.\nAdditional Data\nKessler Athletic Trainers have the unique opportunity to expand beyond the traditional athletic setting through:\nIndustrial Sports Medicine programming\nErgonomic assessments and workplace injury prevention\nFunctional movement screening\nPost-Offer Employment Testing (POET)\nOccupational health and wellness initiatives\nLeadership and program development opportunities\nSelect Medical is committed to having a workforce that reflects diversity at all levels and is an equal opportunity employer.
