Shift Management\n· Lead and manage warehouse staff across relevant departments and shifts\n· Allocate labour daily in line with workload and operational priorities\n· Communicate clear work instructions and performance expectations\n· Motivate teams to meet productivity and service targets\n· Conduct team briefs, coaching, return-to-work meetings, and training\nWorkload Planning & Performance\n· Plan daily workloads and resource deployment\n· Monitor progress against output targets and KPIs\n· Reassess priorities to ensure deadlines are met\n· Escalate resourcing shortfalls or operational risks to senior management\nWarehouse Processes & Standards\n· Ensure all work procedures and SOPs are followed correctly\n· Maintain high housekeeping and operational standards\n· Support continuous improvement of warehouse processes\n· Maintain effective use of warehouse management systems (WMS)\nHealth & Safety / Compliance\nEnsure all warehouse activities comply with H&S legislation, company policies, and standard operating procedures.\nConduct risk assessments and promote a strong safety culture across both shifts.\nMaintain accurate logs of safety incidents, near misses, and ensure corrective actions are taken.\nLogistics & Inventory Control\nWork with internal logistics and inventory teams to ensure smooth goods in/out processes.\nSupport daily reconciliation, stock rotation, and bin location accuracy.\nEscalate any discrepancies or issues in stock movement or system updates.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify and implement process improvements in warehouse layout, flow, and shift efficiency.\nLead and support warehouse audits, shift reviews, and corrective action plans.\nPeople Management & Development\nSupport recruitment of warehouse operatives where required\nTrain employees to a high standard across warehouse functions\nMonitor performance and provide ongoing feedback and development\nEncourage multi-skilling across departments\nIssue Resolution\nAct as first line escalation point for day-to-day operational issues\nResolve queries efficiently and escalate where necessary\nWhat You Bring to The Role\n· Experience leading teams within a warehouse or logistics environment\n· Understanding of warehouse operations and WMS systems\n· Knowledge of Health & Safety best practices\nPersonal Specification\nQualifications & Experience\n· 3+ years of experience in a warehouse/logistics leadership role.\n· Experience managing multi-shift warehouse operations (ideally day and night).\n· Strong understanding of warehouse operations, WMS, and PDI processes.\n· Knowledge of FMCG or high-volume distribution environments preferred.\nSkills & Competencies\n· Effective leadership and team-building skills across multiple shifts.\n· Strong communication and handover management across day/night teams.\n· Comfortable using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office.\n· Committed to safety, quality, and service excellence.\n· Problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nOrder Pick Accuracy\nTarget: ≥ 99.5%\nMeasures: Number of correct picks vs total picks.\nOrder Dispatch Timeliness\nTarget: ≥ 98% orders dispatched on time.\nMeasures: Orders leaving the warehouse within scheduled cut-off.\n Stock Accuracy (Cycle Count Variance)\nTarget: ≤ 0.5% variance.\nMeasures: Physical vs system inventory accuracy.\n Shift Productivity (Units Picked per Hour per Person)\nTarget: Set benchmark based on SKUs handled.\nMeasures: Average pick rate by shift.\nWarehouse Safety Incidents\nTarget: Zero reportable incidents per quarter.\nMeasures: Near-misses, injuries, or breaches recorded.\nStaff Attendance
