Working closely with R&D and Manufacturing leadership, you will help shape manufacturing test strategies, support new product introductions, and drive initiatives that improve product quality, operational efficiency, and manufacturing scalability.\nThis role offers the opportunity to influence long-term test engineering direction, evaluate emerging technologies, advance automation initiatives, and build the organizational capabilities needed to support SEL's continued growth.\nAs a Test Engineering Manager, a typical day might include:\nLeading, mentoring, and developing a team of test engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nBuilding organizational capability through strategic hiring, succession planning, and employee development to support the growing demand for SEL products.\nPartnering closely with R&D and Manufacturing leadership to align priorities, solve complex challenges, and drive successful business outcomes.\nCollaborating with R&D teams to develop and deploy manufacturing test strategies that support new product introductions (NPI).\nDriving the development and continuous improvement of production test systems, automation solutions, and manufacturing test processes.\nLeading initiatives that improve product quality, test coverage, reliability, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency.\nEvaluating and implementing emerging test technologies and automation capabilities that enhance manufacturing performance and scalability.\nBalancing quality, schedule, cost, and performance objectives while leading engineering projects and technical initiatives.\nDeveloping long-term roadmaps for manufacturing test technologies, organizational capabilities, and engineering resources.\nWorking across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to identify opportunities and deliver sustainable improvements.\nCommunicating technical strategy, organizational priorities, and business results to senior leadership and key stakeholders.\nModeling, teaching, and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing principles.\nThis position may be a good fit if you have:\nA passion for building teams, developing engineers, and creating an environment where people can do their best work.\nBachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n8+ years of engineering and/or engineering management experience.\nDemonstrated success leading engineering teams through growth, organizational change, and increasing business demands.\nStrong technical expertise in electronics manufacturing, production test engineering, or related disciplines.\nExperience developing and supporting manufacturing test systems, automated test solutions, and production processes.\nProven ability to partner effectively with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations leaders.\nExperience leading cross-functional projects and driving organizational improvements.\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop practical, scalable solutions for complex technical and business challenges.\nExcellent communication, collaboration, coaching, and leadership skills.\nWhy This Role?\nDirectly influence the growth and future direction of SEL's Test Engineering organization.\nBuild and develop a team that is essential to supporting increasing demand for SEL products.\nPartner closely with R&D and Manufacturing leadership to shape strategy and execution.\nMentor engineers and help develop the next generation of technical leaders.\nDrive meaningful improvements in quality, automation, manufacturing efficiency, and operational excellence.\nContribute to the success of an employee-owned company committed to long-term growth and innovation.\nCompetitive pay. We are open to considering candidates with varying levels of experience, and compensation may differ if the position is filled at another level.
