This successful individual will be working with a team of engineers to participate in design, implementation, and test for software tools used for power system protection and control. We will be prioritizing students graduating in May or December 2028.\nAs a Software Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following:\nSupporting SEL’s software development process.\n\nImplementing software designand automated scripts.\n\nVerifying that software meets requirements.\n\nProviding support to engineering staff as needed.\n\nThis job might be for you if you:\nAre a current student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or equivalent with at least one year of technical coursework completed, and graduating in May or December 2028.\n\nAre able to work on-site in Boise, ID full-time in the summer & part-time during the school year.\n\nHave experience with Python and C#.\n\nHave an understanding of digital logic and Boolean equations.\n\nHave optional experience with VBA, Java, Perl, Ruby and C++.\n\nAre able to learn new software, understand APIs required to interact with various software platforms.\n\nAre able to execute and document defined testing procedures\n\nHave strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.\n\nAre able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities\n\nAre able to work cooperatively in a team environment\n\nHave background check results satisfactory to SEL & negative drug test result(s)\n\nLocation Information\nThis position is located in Boise, ID, capital of the gem state, and on the Boise River in the southwestern part of the state.
