We support Asia’s growing energy needs while advancing the shift to a lower-carbon future.\n\nPurpose and Scope\nLead the end-to-end electrical engineering scope for Power Plants, Data Centres, Solar PV, and BESS projects from a developer’s perspective, including feasibility studies, electrical sizing, concept and detailed design development, tender preparation, and technical evaluation. Responsible for design verification to ensure compliance with performance, safety, grid, and regulatory requirements.\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams to foster a collaborative team culture with continuous improvement.\n\nKey Roles and Responsibilities\nProvide technical support to Business Development by preparing electrical concepts, feasibility assessments, project capacity estimates, and high‑level cost inputs for bids and proposals.\nPreparation of electrical design deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), electrical schematics, module/inverter layouts, stringing arrangements, protection schemes, and grid interconnection concepts.\nDevelop electrical design specifications, functional requirements, and Employer’s Requirements for tendering and project execution.\nPerform electrical sizing and engineering calculations, including cable sizing & voltage drop\nEvaluate new technology and innovative solutions, e.g., advanced instrumentation systems, smart sensors, and competitive alternatives to SF6-insulated GIS.\nAttend FAT/SAT and functional testing to ensure E&I equipment meets design intent and project premise.\nConduct system performance analysis and software simulations for Solar PV and BESS systems to validate energy yield, losses, and operational behaviour.\nConduct software simulations and modelling for Solar PV and BESS systems to validate design assumptions.\nProvide engineering and technical support during construction and installation, addressing site issues, responding to RFIs, supporting design clarifications, and resolving deviations from approved designs.\nReview and verify EPC contractor and vendor design submissions to ensure compliance with technical specifications, standards, regulatory& authorities and EPC contract requirements.\nCollaborate with O&M teams to review operational performance, identify optimisation opportunities, and incorporate lessons learned into future designs.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nDegree in Electrical engineering discipline or equivalent\n3 to 5 years’ experience in Electrical Systems, with a plus in Solar PV, or BESS system design / engineering.\n\nSkills/competencies & Preferred Characteristics\nMotivated individual with excellence towards work\nBasic understanding of business acumen\nKnowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced Excel capability\nFamiliar with engineering software such as PVSyst, AutoCAD, Sketchup, SolarGIS, Helioscope, Andrea\nAble to contribute and collaborate efficiently as a team member, achieving objectives as a group\n\nOur Culture at Sembcorp\nAt Sembcorp, our culture is shaped by a strong set of shared behaviours that guide the way we work and uphold our commitment to driving the energy transition.\nWe foster an institution-first mindset, where the success of Sembcorp takes precedence over individual interests.
