The Field Data Coordinator will serve as a key point for Semex field data initiatives, helping drive actions and follow-through across farm data access, data quality, analysis, and reporting. The job holder will work closely with R&I, Analytics, Operations, and other internal stakeholders, as well as field contacts, producers, herd managers, and external data providers, to improve the volume, quality, continuity, and timeliness of field data, interpret results, and translate findings into practical insights that support operational decision-making.\nWhat You Will Do:\nDevelop and maintain relationships with partner herds that align with Semex field data priorities and identify opportunities to expand data coverage.\nCoordinate herd recruitment, onboarding, participation, timelines, and follow-up with producers, field teams, and data providers.\nMonitor incoming field and reproductive data for quality, continuity, and timeliness.\nIdentify missing, delayed, or inconsistent records and coordinate practical resolution with herd, field, and technical contacts.\nMaintain herd records, contact history, participation status, data-source information, breeding volumes, quality indicators, targets, and outstanding actions.\nDevelop and maintain an annual field data acquisition plan that identifies data gaps, priority herds, new data opportunities, expected outcomes, and required actions.\nSupport the addition of new herds, herd-management platforms, and data sources.\nAnalyze field data, identify trends, gaps, and emerging issues, and translate findings into clear, practical insights for internal teams and field partners.\nSupport cloud-based tracking, reporting, and dashboard tools that provide access to descriptive statistics and key data metrics.\nLead practical improvements to herd engagement, data collection, data flow, analysis, and reporting processes.\nWhat You Need to Succeed:\nDiploma or degree in animal science, agriculture, dairy science, agribusiness,data analytics, data management, or a relatedfield.\nStrong organizational and follow-through skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple herds, contacts, activities, and timelines.\nStrong understanding of field data, with the ability to analyze and interpret results usingfarm records, spreadsheets, databases, reporting systems, and data-quality processes.\nExcellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence working with producers, field contacts, and internal and external stakeholders.\nPractical and proactive problem-solver who can identify issues, coordinate solutions, and escalate risks when needed.\nDetail-oriented, dependable, collaborative, and adaptable, with sound judgment when handling confidential operational and herd data.\nStrong understanding of field data and the ability to analyze and interpret it\nPractical knowledge of farm and reproductive records, data management, and partner-herd coordination\nKnowledge of dairy reproduction, fertility management, and herd-recording systems.\nExperience working with dairy producers, agricultural field operations, commercial breeding programs, or industry data providers.\nExperience with Excel, Power BI, cloud-based data environments, dashboards, databases, or data-quality reporting.\nExperience with large or complex datasets.Familiarity with SQL, R, Python, or other analytical tools is an asset but is not required.\nWhy Join Semex:\nHealth & Wellness\nCompany paid comprehensive benefits program: Including extended health and dental care for employees and eligible dependents\nShort and long-term disability coverage\nEmployee & Family Assistance Program \nFinancial Security\nDefined Contribution Pension Plan with employer matching\nCompetitive salary, merit pay and annual performance bonus\nWork-Life Balance\nPaid time off: Vacation, Personal and Sick time\nEmployee Recognition Program \nGrowth & Culture\nLearning and development opportunities \nSocial committee events \nAnnual allowance for Semex Shop to purchase Semex / Boviteq branded clothing and merchandise \nWork Location & Minimum Pay Rate\nThis is a hybrid role, with flexibility to be based out of our Guelph, Ontario or Madison, Wisconsin office. This position offers a minimum starting salary of $75,000, with potential compensation enhancements based on applicable experience and qualifications. The level, title, and scope of the position may be adjusted to reflect the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications, ranging from an early-career opportunity to a more senior role.
