As a Junior Accountant, you may support core accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries and reconciliations.\nAccounts Payable:\nAccurately process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and timely payment.\nPrepare and process electronic payments, checks, and wire transfers with accuracy and efficiency.\nManage employee expenses ensuring compliance, approval, and correct coding; upload transactions to accounting software on time.\nVerify and reconcile credit card statements, address discrepancies with cardholders and departments, and accurately record transactions in the ERP system.\nAccounts Receivable:\nGenerate sales invoices in accordance with contract terms, company policies, and regional regulatory requirements.\nLead and coordinate the payment reminder and collection processes, collaborating closely with the sales team to optimize cash flow and minimize outstanding receivables.\nEnsure accurate and timely financial transactions are entered into Microsoft Dynamics, such as intercompany transactions and customer payment information from bank, or other sources. \nApply payments accurately to customer accounts and assist in AR reconciliations and reporting.\nAccounting Processes:\nComplete month-end processing tasks and reports, such as journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet Trade Debtor Schedules and preparation of month end customer account reconciliation.\nEnsure accounting practices align with accounting assertions, comply with company policies, and reflect the commercial terms of customer contracts.\nPrepare and distribute financial summaries and performance metrics to support reporting and analysis.\nManage department inboxes, responding to inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.\nMaintain accurate financial records, including cash receipts, payments, and adjustments, to support audits and financial reporting. \nCompile documentation for audits and financial reviews.\nRequirements\nWe want you to succeed, so you will need:\nCompletion of or working towards a degree or diploma in accounting or a related discipline\n1+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in accounts payable or receivable\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team\nA problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to resolving issues\nNice to Have:\nExperience improving accounting processes and driving operational efficiencies\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Suite\nSalary range: $59,500 to $65,000 per year\nWe publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.\nBenefits\nWhy this is the opportunity for you:\nPurposeful Work: Make a global impact by advancing sustainable food production.\nOur People: Work with a fun, collaborative, and supportive team.\nRecharge: Generous vacation policy, company-paid holidays and year-end winter break.\nWork Flexibility: Hybrid working arrangements and strong work-life balance culture.\nPrioritize Your Well-Being: Access comprehensive health plans designed to support your physical and mental health.\nGroup RRSP, which includes a 3% company paid match after three months of employment\nOffice location that is convenient via transit and bike paths\nAt Semios Group, we value the full range of experience and perspectives people bring-not just what’s listed in a job description.
