Pre-silicon responsibilities include hardware emulation, FPGA prototyping, labtestinganddebug. Post-silicon responsibilities encompassICbring-up, hardware-firmware debug, bench characterization ofanalogand mixed-signalperformance, and systematic root-cause analysis of silicon and system-level issues. The Silicon Validation Engineer will create test plans, runand analyzelab measurements, author characterization reports, and contribute to overall verification coverage closure. The role requires hands-onproficiencywith lab instruments and measurement setups, combined with strong programming and scripting skills for test automation and data analysis. The Silicon Validation Engineer willinterface closely withdesign, verification, product/test, and applications teams throughout the product development cycle.\nResponsibilities:\nValidate pre-siliconand post-siliconhardware and software/firmware developed by the design team to achieve target specifications.\n\nDefine,debugandoperateFPGA prototyping platforms for pre-silicon emulation andvalidations.\n\nLead silicon validation test planfor IC designs, develop lab hardware andevaluationsetup,drive bring-up and debug, run and analyze measurements.\n\nDevelop tests that exercise the features of the design under test. Write scripts and instrument drivers to automate the validation.Leverage AI-assisted development tools and workflows for lab measurement automation, data analysis, and prototyping.\n\nExecute analog and mixed-signal performance characterization across corner conditions. Correlate measured withdesign expectedresults.\n\nDesign and develop fixtures and other components to support validation.\n\nAnalyze findings, debughardware andsoftware/firmware, and report to the design team.\n\nAuthor test plans, characterization reports, anddocumentationforreviews.\n\nInterface with system, digital, software/firmware, analog,verificationand cross-functional teams.\n\nProvidetechnical supporttotest,product,and application engineers.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n5+ yearsof work experienceinhardwareandsoftwarevalidation of semiconductors, electronic components, or similar\n\nB.S. orM.S. in Electrical orComputerEngineering\n\nStronganalytical, synthesisandproblem-solvingskills\n\nHands-on experience withlab instruments -logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, supplies, multimeters-and the associated measurement methods\n\nProficiencyin C/C++, scripting languages (Python), SW development, embedded systems\n\nExperience withstandardhardwareprotocols(e.g.I2C,I3C, SPI,MIPI,GPIB, JTAG, PCIe, etc.)\n\nExposure todevelopment boards,processors, microcontrollers, and FPGAs (e.g. AMD Vivado, etc.)\n\nIndependent, self-motivated, rigorous, team player and able to follow through\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\n\nWilling and able to work onsite in San Diego, California\n\nDesiredQualifications:\nExperience with integrated circuit bring-up, pre/post-silicon validation, digitalsystems\n\nExperience inAIcoding tools(e.g.Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot)and associated workflows\n\nExperience with MCU-based systems (e.g.ARM, RISC-V, PIC, STM32)\n\nKnowledge of RTL (SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL), FPGA tools, orMatlab\n\nFamiliarity with analog/mixed-signal circuit concepts and testing techniques\n\nExperience with version control systems (Git) and scripted regression frameworks\n\nThe intent of this job description is to describe the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
