You will be working closely with different OEMs on next generation products such as Laptop, Mobile phones, Automotive steering wheels & smart surfaces, Fitness Trackers and Industrial display panels, etc. Yourrole may includemechanical design,small scale prototyping, DFM, testing and characterization androot-cause analysis.We also expect to extendthe job scope to finite element analysis, electromagnetic simulation and optimization, provided long term training is given to the candidate.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and executeelectro-mechanical designs from concept to fabrication backed by thorough engineering analysis.\n\nAssistin fabrication, assembly, and testing activities from Proof-of-Concepts to mass production projects.\n\nCollaborate closely with business and engineering teams during the product development cycle to translate customer input into successful,cutting-edgeproducts.\n\nTravel to manufacturing partners (domestic and international) to help bring up production line.\n\nTravel to customer locations (domestic and international) to provide technical support.\n\nPerform finite element analysis (FEA) and electromagnetic simulation and optimization on module designsin order tooptimizeperformance and the HMI experience. (with training provided at Semtech)\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n5+ years of work experience designing real world products\n\nCreative problem solving in designing electro-mechanical assemblies from concept to fabrication\n\nWorking knowledge of various fabrication methods such as CNC machining, injection molding, 3D printing, sheet metal stamping, and assembly techniques for consumer and industrial products\n\nExcellent skill in 3D CAD modelingmechanical drawing\n\nGood understanding of materials,structural mechanics,sensorsand actuators(esp. electromagnetic actuators)\n\nFamiliarity with DFM (design for manufacturing) and performance and reliability testing\n\nConsumer electronics experience a plus\n\nWorking knowledge of electronics and circuits\n\nHands-on experience with fabrication and assembly tools(including 3D printing, laser cutting,etc…)\n\nProficiencywith electromagnetic simulation tools such as COMSOL will be a big plus\n\nBachelor’s Degree orMaster’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering\n\nDesiredQualifications\nSelf starter\n\nFast learner\n\nStrong work ethic\n\nGood team collaboration\n\nThe intent of this job description is to describe the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
