Semtech product platforms include: Signal Integrity, Cellular IoT Solutions, Circuit Protection, Wireless RF, Smart Sensing, Power Management, Broadcast Video, and Professional AV.\nPosition Summary:\nReporting to the Director of Procurement, the Strategic Sourcing Manager executes end-to-end purchasing activities for indirect goods and services including strategic sourcing, analysis, negotiations, and contract management. The position will play a critical role in supporting capital equipment (CapEx) procurement, requiring comfort with technical specifications and high-value vendor negotiations. The position will manage the vendors in North America.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCollaborate with internal business units to identify needs and objectives to recommend suppliers capable of providing goods and services that meet requirements. This includes vetting requirements to ensure that they can be operationalized.\nSupport capital expenditure (CapEx) sourcing activities including technical RFQs, equipment vendor negotiations, and coordination with engineering, IT, and operations stakeholders.\nInvite, assess, and award/recommend supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals. This includes the ability to design and implement sourcing events in the form of Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Quotations (RFQ), and Requests for Information (RFI).\nNegotiate with vendors to arrive at the appropriate specifications and optimal value Structures evaluation criteria to ensure an equitable and consistent approach when selecting preferred vendors.\nEstablish and negotiate contract terms and conditions, and maintain supplier relationships.\nRenewal contract negotiation - track contracts for renewals and expiries in advance to formulate appropriate supplier engagement strategies.\nTotal cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.\nComply with and maintain knowledge of applicable rules, legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices.\nMinimum Qualifications (Must Haves):\n5+ years of strategic sourcing experience with demonstrated expertise in pricing / contract negotiation and ownership of RFP, RFI, RFQ processes\nExpertise with capital expenditure (Capex) sourcing\nExperience sourcing Manufacturing and IT equipment\nAdvanced experience with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English.\nUndergraduate degree\nDesired Qualifications (Strong Pluses):\nHigh tech industry background\nSCMP or other Supply Chain/Purchasing certification\nExposure to SAP\nExperience with AI tools like Claude\nThe intent of this job description is to describe the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
