Semtech is seeking a Production Supervisor to support the Colorado Springs manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the production workforce supporting the advanced packaging of wafer and die level silicon products.\nJob Summary\nProduction Supervisor: The production supervisor works in coordination with the Operations/Production Management to understand the current demands and upcoming needs of the organization. This allows the production supervisor to set goals for daily operations within the fab and direct operator’s priorities accordingly. The supervisor is responsible for identifying obstacles to stated goals and for seeking assistance from management, engineers, and/or maintenance as needed to resolve roadblocks. The supervisor will have a team of operators that report directly to them and will be responsible for. The supervisor must be comfortable directing operators in accordance with company policy and reporting violations to HR. While a strong candidate will exhibit qualities of a leader, they must also be able to perform all operator functions. This means they must be capable of operating a variety of automatic or semi-automatic manufacturing machines including robotic assembly equipment used in the production of the company's semiconductor products.\nResponsibilities\nWorks directly for Production Manager on all manufacturing related aspects to ensure safe, on time and cost effective manufacturing execution and delivery. 10% \nEnsures activities in production area(s) meet production goals and support quality and cost objectives. 10% \nWorks to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions and implement corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence. 10% \nSelects and develops personnel to ensure efficient operation of the production floor; communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions. 5% \nRuns a safe, incident/injury free work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. 5% \nMust be able to work in a clean room environment and follow clean room protocols. Must understand best practices for safe handling of chemicals. 5% \nMust have knowledge of all OP’s and CAR’s for audits. 5% \nWrite Work Instructions and Operating Procedures as required. · Oversee training requirements for the production department. 5% \nInterface with engineering, management, and maintenance 5% \nSetup and operate assigned production equipment striving to achieve goals for quality, efficiency and productivity 5% \nUnderstand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship. 5% \nBuild trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity. 5% \nMaintains reports to reflect scheduling, methods, support performance and process procedures. 5% \nPerform and direct 5S activities 5% \nOversee daily passdowns from previous shift 5% \nPerforms the role of a Production Technician in the absence of other duties for the shift. 5% \nPerforms other job-related duties as assigned. 5% \nRequirements:\n2-5 years operator experience required \nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. \nBroad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education or work-related experience. \nValid driver’s license required. \nMust be able to work compressed work shifts as well as possible participation/attendance for meetings/classes on unscheduled days \nMicrosoft Word, Excel and Outlook \nStanding for 12hour shift \n Lift up to 50lbs \nQualifications:\nStrong knowledge of assembly, testing, and packaging processes, as well as quality management principles. \nExcellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coach team members effectively. \nDemonstrated problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills. \nDetail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. \nAbility to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. \nStrong people skills with the understanding that they need to train at the individual’s learning ability \nGood mechanical aptitude, vision/finger dexterity and attention to detail \nAbility to read and comprehend component part markings and polarity \nAbility to interpret Engineering Documentation and work instructions \nProfessional and positive communication skills \nProven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage time and priorities. \nCareer progression notification for Production Supervisor positions: Production Supervisors are hired at the level commiserate with their education/skills/work experience and tenure.\nWe are proud to be an EEO employer M/F/D/V.
