They will provide guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to the production group. The position is responsible for the supervision of the production department team members, monitoring of the production floor, directing, coordinating, and executing production activities and will be working in a fast-paced environment spend 80% of the time inside the production areas and focused on ensuring that the production schedule is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nCreate, plan, and execute work schedules and assignments. Assist manager in production sequence planning to meet daily production schedules and provide superior customer service.\nComplete and analyze weekly departmental performance reports and shift recap reports.\nManage, document, and implement new and improved processes and train staff for effective execution.\nEnsure team members take scheduled breaks and lunches.\nReview employee performance issues promptly and effectively with documentation.\nEnsure worker safety through monitoring of employee practices, identifying safety hazards of equipment and environments, and training.\nEnsure the overall quality of the products by evaluating materials and equipment according to specifications.\nResponsibilities for working with Food Safety and Quality to meet Good Manufacturing, Legislative, and Training objectives. \nRequest materials and supplies needed to maintain production process run efficiently and create Maintenance work orders though the CMMS program for equipment parts or repair services. \nParticipate in Operations staff meetings and perform weekly tailgate meetings \nTrain new employees and coach existing employees.\nInvestigate and generate reports for all incidents. (accidents, poor performance, EE complaints) \nParticipate and suggest cost-saving ideas and initiatives.\nPerform various audits in a timely manner as programmed.\nOther duties assigned\nREQUIREMENTS:\nProactively assist team members, manager and employees as needed.\nAbility to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule\nMaintain composure under difficult circumstances and effectively deal with employees \nFlexibility to work nights and weekends \nWork long hours as necessary.\nCommunicate special instructions or possible issues to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.\nTeambuilding and ensuring teamwork.\nSelf-starter, ability to work independently as well as with team members and management.\nMust be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.\nMust be able to speak effectively in group gatherings and functions\nBilingual - English/Spanish\nSolid understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).\nEDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE:\nCollege graduate in food technology or comparable work experience\n3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing \nPHYSICAL DEMAND:\nWork mostly indoors in a cold environment (+/- 32°F).\nModerate expose to cleanings and sanitizing chemicals\nStanding, walking, crouching, stooping, climbing, twisting, balancing, leg/foot use, reaching, overhead extension, handling, pushing/pulling.\nSeneca Foods Corporation is committed to providing equal opportunity for all, through a positive and continuing affirmative action program.
