Come join the Seneca Foods team - Apply now!\nJob Overview:\nThe Quality Control Technician is responsible for reviewing, maintaining, organizing, and verifying quality-related records and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established company procedures and applicable requirements. This position primarily works in an office environment and supports Quality Assurance through recordkeeping, sample preparation, testing documentation, and coordination with other departments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, accurate, and able to maintain the confidentiality of company information.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nQuality Records and Documentation:\nReview production, quality, inspection, sanitation, food-safety, and other related records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures.\nMaintain accurate and organized electronic and paper records.\nMaintain the confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of company records and information.\nCoordinate annual record shredding and identify Quality Assurance records eligible for shredding.\nComplete assigned work accurately and within established deadlines.\nSample Processing and Quality Control:\nProcess and package weekly samples and sample requests.\nSet up, grade, and clean up daily production samples.\nConduct shelf-life studies.\nPull samples from the warehouse as needed.\nLog product attributes and maintain related records.\nDeliver products and instruments to outside laboratories as needed.\nHold Area and Product Tracking:\nMaintain the Hold area, including documenting holds in and out, maintaining logs, and compiling appropriate records.\nWater Sampling and Testing:\nCollect daily water samples from established plant sources.\nLog and report water test results.\nMaintain the titration log and related documentation.\nRegulatory and Quality Documentation:\nMaintain and prepare documentation for USDA contracts and remain aware of contract status and requirements.\nMaintain current Kosher certificates.\nMaintain documentation for downtime and repairs, incoming ingredients, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).\nAssist with auditing thermal processes.\nMaintain and edit formulas as needed.\nCommunication and Collaboration:\nPrepare reports for meetings and other quality-related purposes.\nAssist with training as needed.\nWork cooperatively with Quality Assurance, Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, Can Plant, and other personnel.\nCommunicate effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nPrevious experience in quality control, quality assurance, food processing, manufacturing, records management, documentation, or a related field preferred.\nPrevious experience reviewing quality, production, food-safety, regulatory, or other controlled documentation preferred.\nComputer and Technical Skills:\nExperience using GEM, SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, or similar computer systems preferred.\nAbility to accurately enter information into computer systems and maintain electronic and paper records.\nAbility to read, understand, and follow written procedures, instructions, and forms.\nAttention to Detail and Accuracy:\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nDemonstrated ability to review detailed records and identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information.\nAbility to exercise sound judgment when identifying documentation discrepancies or issues requiring follow-up.\nAbility to maintain the accuracy and integrity of company records and information.\nOrganization and Recordkeeping:\nStrong organizational and recordkeeping skills.\nAbility to maintain accurate, complete, and organized documentation.\nAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.\n\nCommunication and Interpersonal Skills:\nAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with employees at associated with keyboarding, data entry, filing, and handling documents.\nAbility to read and review information on computer screens and printed documents.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and access office, production, warehouse, laboratory, and other facility areas as needed.\nAbility to collect daily water samples and lift and carry sample cans, boxed or loose samples, and other materials.\nAbility to lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to navigate stairs, uneven surfaces, and other areas of the facility as required.\nAdditional Requirements:\nMust have a valid driver's license.\nAbility to operate a forklift preferred.\nMust comply with applicable company policies and procedures, including safety, food safety, sanitation,
