Join us and find your future in a company that values innovation and integrity.\nSummary: The Manufacturing Engineer I (ME I) works mainly within the operations group supporting operations and production requirements. The ME I will also support Design and Project Engineering efforts translating requirements into production implementation activities. Based on design requirements defined through drawings and specifications, the ME I plans and prepares manufacturing documentation according to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) practices, including Visual Work Instructions (VWI). The ME I identifies equipment, develops tooling plans and cellular manufacturing concepts for their assigned area of responsibility. The ME I supports and develops new manufacturing and tooling concepts, prepares reports showing areas of improvement, supports improvement projects to show results and initiate efforts in the development of new manufacturing and production techniques.\nThe Manufacturing Manager will define specific responsibilities for each Manufacturing Engineer in accordance with their area of expertise. Responsibilities will be reviewed at least once annually preferably near/during the performance review period or as organizational changes occur.\nThe ME I plans and carries out policies and procedures for manufacturing operation efforts utilized in the manufacturing areas.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nUnder general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:\nResponsible for and will be the focal point for all technical aspects of assigned project(s) in the following categories:Compliance with customer/product procurement specification\nValidate that the manufacturing process meets all customer and internal requirements.\nReview and support product manufacturability\nInvestigation and concurrence on planning document releases\nAdvanced Quality Planning (AQP)\nTooling requirements\nVisual Work Instructions (VWI)\nMeeting cost targets\nEliminating waste from the manufacturing process\n\nResponsible for clear and concise work instructions of detail parts, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies.\nApply operation time standards as required and develop Work Combination Sheets (WCS).\nEnsure manufacturability of detail parts, sub-assemblies, top assemblies as applicable to projects/programs.\nPotential liaison to provide technical assistance between Senior Aerospace SSP manufacturing and customer cognizant engineering.\nMay be assigned to work with developing supplier processes and help correct supplier issues.\nAssist in the initial manufacturing cycle of new detail parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies for assigned New Product Introduction (NPI).\nFollow up on the effectiveness of the manufacturing process and identify issues through data analysis or manufacturing measuring techniques.\nBecome familiar with specific product manufacturing processes, identify, and implement cost reduction ideas. May be assigned to special cost reduction initiatives as part of a muti-discipline team.\nWorks on a Production Support Team and partners with the other team members to address manufacturing issues.\nSupport Root Cause and Preventive Actions to eliminate causes for nonconforming products.\nSupport, document and validate component, assembly, and/or system processes such as machining, forming, stamping, heat treating, and chemical processing of the following materials:Titanium\nInconel\nAluminum\nStainless Steel\n01 and D2 tooling steel\n\nEnsure engineering changes are documented and implemented.\nCoordinate the design of tooling as it applies to the manufacturing/assembly process.\nDevelop sound manufacturing processes based upon Senior Aerospace SSP’s capabilities.\nReview production drawing(s) for technical content and provide feedback.\nMake recommendations and offer credible solutions to product, tooling and processes.\nPerform related work as required.\nFollow all Senior policies and procedures.\nOther duties as assigned.\nIn addition to the above, Engineers are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices.
