Join us and find your future in a company that values innovation and integrity.\nSummary: The Manufacturing Engineer II (ME II) works mainly within the operations group supporting operations and production requirements. The ME II will also support Design and Project Engineering efforts translating requirements into production implementation activities. Based on design requirements defined through drawings and specifications, the ME II plans and prepares manufacturing documentation according to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) practices, including Visual Work Instructions (VWI). The ME II determines equipment, tooling plans, and cellular manufacturing concepts for their assigned area of responsibility. The ME II will originate and develop new manufacturing and tooling concepts, provides data to Estimating for quoting customer requests, prepare reports showing areas for improvements, run improvement projects and initiate efforts in the development of new manufacturing and production techniques.\nThe Manufacturing Manager will define specific responsibilities for each Manufacturing Engineer in accordance with their area of expertise. Responsibilities will be reviewed at least once annually preferably near/during the performance review period or as organizational changes occur.\nThe ME II plans and carries out policies and procedures for manufacturing operation efforts utilized in the manufacturing areas.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nUnder minimal supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:\nResponsible for and will be the focal point for all technical aspects of assigned project(s) in the following categories:Compliance with customer/product procurement specification\nValidate the manufacturing process meets all customer and internal requirements.\nInitiate and support product manufacturability\nReview and support planning document releases\nAdvanced Quality Planning (AQP)\nTooling requirements\nVisual Work Instructions (VWI)\nMeeting cost targets\nEliminating waste from manufacturing processes\n\nResponsible for clear and concise work instructions of detail parts, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies.\nApply operation time standards as required, develop Work Combination Sheets (WCS).\nEnsure the manufacturability of detail parts, sub-assemblies, top assemblies as applicable to projects/programs.\nPotential liaison to provide technical assistance between Senior Aerospace SSP manufacturing and customer cognizant engineering.\nMay be assigned to work with developing supplier processes and help correct supplier issues.\nAssist in the initial manufacturing cycle of all new detail parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies for assigned New Product Introduction (NPI).\nFollow up on the effectiveness of manufacturing processes.\nIdentify, implement and drive cost reduction ideas. Assigned to special cost reduction initiatives as part of a muti-discipline team.\nWorks on or leads a Production Support Team and partners with the other team members to address manufacturing issues.\nPerforms Root Cause and Preventive Actions to eliminate causes for nonconforming products.\nPerform, document and validate component, assembly, and/or system processes such as machining, forming, stamping, heat treating, and chemical processing of the following materials:Titanium\nInconel\nAluminum\nStainless Steel\n01 and D2 tooling steel\n\nEnsure that all engineering changes are documented and implemented.\nCoordinate and support the design of tooling as it applies to the manufacturing/assembly process.\nDevelop sound manufacturing processes based upon Senior Aerospace SSP’s capabilities.\nReview production drawing(s) for technical content.\nMake recommendations and offer credible solutions to product, tooling and processes.\nProvides data and relevant information to the quoting process.\nPerform related work as required.\nFollow all Senior policies and procedures.\nOther duties as assigned.\nIn addition to the above, Engineers are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices.
