Performs design, drafting, and checking functions and can coordinate designs with both Project and Manufacturing Engineers.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nUnder general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:\nProficient in all facets of 3D modeling in CATIA V5. Capable of creating sketch-based solids, complex surfaces, assemblies, parameterized models, etc.\nUse manufacturing knowledge in the creation of metallic components by sheet metal forming, and both subtractive and additive manufacturing to design parts which can be readily manufactured.\nCreate details and assemblies with broad range of complexity while operating within engine and vehicle level DMU environments. Model in local and/or global coordinate systems, as applicable.\nAbility to operate in PLM software (3DX) and use standard configuration management practices.\nCreate 2D drawings or 3D PDFs for detail components and assemblies.\nCreate Model Based Definition (MBD) using the FTA workbench.\nDevelop assembly BOMs.\nStrong understanding and application of GD&T practices per ASME Y14.5-2018 (2009 acceptable).\nPerform tolerance stack-ups, interference checks, and installation assessments.\nWrite Engineering Orders and make changes to existing drawings.\nPerform weight calculations (hand or CATIA based).\nPerform design checks of models and drawings created by other drafters.\nAid the shop, customers, and vendors in reading and interpreting SSP and customer drawings to facilitate manufacturing.\nCreate tooling models and drawings.\nFollow all Senior policies and procedures.\nOther duties as assigned.\nMaintain an organized, clean, and safe work area using safety standards\nOther Information:\nLess than 5% travel is typical for this role.\nThis is not a supervisory role. However, experienced employees are expected to help mentor junior employees as needed.\n Education and/or Experience:\nRequiredBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study, with four years minimum of aerospace design and drafting experience. Minimum of 6,000 hours in CATIA V5.\n\nDesiredMaster’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, along with two years minimum of aerospace design and drafting experience.
