We enable customers to design what they want, when they want it and deliver harness builds at record-breaking speed.\nWe’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to own and execute wire harness programs from engineering release through production readiness. You will develop manufacturing documentation, define build processes, and drive program-level improvements that enhance quality, repeatability, and scalability. \nThis role is ideal for an engineer who can independently execute defined programs, solve technical challenges, and contribute to continuous improvement-without needing to manage org-wide standards or enterprise-level systems. Prior wire-harness experience is not required but strongly preferred. \nWhat you'll own:\nProgram Execution & Manufacturing Readiness \nOwn manufacturing readiness for assigned harness programs from kickoff through release \nDevelop engineering packages including work instructions, formboards, and basic tooling and fixture concepts \nTranslate drawings, BOMs, and customer requirements into clear, production-ready processes \nCoordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure programs meet quality, schedule, and manufacturability expectations \nProvide technical clarity and guidance during program reviews and build planning \nProcess Development & Improvement \nDefine and refine manufacturing processes to improve build quality, consistency, and efficiency \nEvaluate parts and assemblies to determine practical, scalable build approaches \nSupport process validation, workflow optimization, and equipment/tooling readiness \nApply lean principles, time studies, and capacity considerations to improve throughput \nIdentify improvement opportunities within assigned programs and drive implementation \nDocumentation & Standards \nEnsure all documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with quality and customer requirements \nMaintain and improve work instructions, formboards, and process documentation \nPartner with Quality to ensure compliance with IPC-620, NASA 8739.4, and customer specifications \nContinuous Improvement & Collaboration \nSurface recurring issues and contribute to structured process improvements \nSupport implementation of standardized workflows and engineering best practices \nCollaborate with software/product teams to enhance manufacturing workflows and traceability \nMaintain adherence to lean principles, 5S, and aerospace quality standards \nCustomer & Cross-Functional Collaboration \nSupport technical communication with customers in partnership with Program Management or senior engineers \nProvide input on risks, tradeoffs, and feasibility during program reviews \nCoordinate with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth program execution \nWhat you'll bring to the team:\nRequired \nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field, or equivalent hands-on experience \n3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in production environments (wire harness, electrical assembly, aerospace, electronics, or similar) \nExperience supporting or owning manufacturing builds or programs end-to-end \nWorking knowledge of: \nProcess development and documentation \nLean manufacturing and 5S \nTime studies and basic capacity planning \nCAD tools for creating assembly drawings and formboards \nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to execute with moderate autonomy \nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment \nEffective communication skills across engineering, production, and quality teams \nPreferred \nExperience with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and/or NASA STD 8739.4 \nBackground in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing \nExperience in contract manufacturing or high-mix production \nHands-on familiarity with harness fabrication, testing, or assembly (not required) \nExposure to MES/ERP systems \nExperience supporting NPI or early-stage production builds \nExposure to structured continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, Six Sigma) \nCompensation: \nCompensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. \nSalary Range: $100,000-$130,000 \nThis is an onsite role at our headquarters in Redondo Beach, CA or Cypress, CA. \nBenefits: \nUnmatched opportunities to drive impact on a friendly and mission-driven team \nOwn a piece of the pie with equity participation! \nComprehensive medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability coverage \nFlexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Spending Account (DSA) for health-related expenses \n20 vacation days per year and 12 company holidays for rest and relaxation\na 401(k) plan to set yourself up for retirement\nChoose a record you love, and we’ll add it to our growing vinyl collection! \n$50/month DoorDash credit - lunch is on us! \nUp to $100/month reimbursement for gym memberships \nFully stocked kitchen with snacks and beverages \nRegular team-building events, lunches, and the occasional breakfast burrito! \nBright, open office with communal spaces for collaboration and free parking \nConveniently located near the metro, major freeways and local dining spots \nWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
