This position works closely with design engineers, equipment vendors, program managers, marketing, and quality engineers to support the development of new electromechanical products. They are responsible for providing the overall process design and suggesting measures to improve product design for manufacturability. This includes the development of new equipment and process flows as well as developing cost estimates for labor and capital. They will also provide ongoing sustaining support to production lines at our global make sites.General Responsibilities\nKey participant in the development of new production processes and/or adapt existing production processes for assembly, calibration and testing\nDefine specifications for production equipment and interact with mechanization (in house) and/or equipment suppliers to ensure equipment will meet specifications\nKey participant in global new product development project teams to enable successful launch of new products\nCollaborate with other departments on process specifications, quality aspects, product specifications and continuity of equipment\nInfluence product designs during new product development phase to ensure economical and defect free manufacture\nDeveloping new or improved manufacturing and testing processes that are necessary to achieve the performance and cost requirements of future device applications\nOrganize the arranging of sample lines and process development equipment\nKey participant in advanced quality planning activities\nCoordinates all functional requirements, the reviewing of designs and debugging /qualifying new high volume assembly /test equipment or tooling\nTransferring knowledge to make site personnel\nSupport improvement projects to reduce cycle time, defects and manufacturing costs\nWork with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure processes are capable, have sufficient controls in place, can meet out delivery requirements, and meet our cost targets\nEvaluate technical capabilities including tooling design, build experience, maintenance program, processes and process controls, cell automation- if required, quality control systems, and material knowledge\n Experience / Qualifications\nA university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience\nMust be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands\nStrong communication skills; oral, written and presentation\nStrong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results\nStrong personal and professional ethical values and integrity\nHolds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards\nProficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)\nStrong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers\nPreferred Skillsets / Qualifications\nProven experience in the automotive industry (Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers) or closely related electronics sectors such as automotive electronics, sensors, connectors, or electronic control units (ECUs).\nDemonstrated ownership of New Product Development (NPD) or New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, leading activities from concept or RFQ stages through PPAP submission and Start of Production (SOP).\nStrong understanding of IATF 16949 requirements and practical experience applying the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology throughout the product development lifecycle.\nAbility to independently develop and maintain key quality deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Validation documentation.\nSolid knowledge of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), including risk assessment, prioritization of actions, and implementation of effective process controls to mitigate manufacturing risks.\nProven problem-solving capability utilizing structured methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, and other root cause analysis tools to drive improvements in quality, yield, and manufacturing performance.\nExperience analyzing process and quality data to identify improvement opportunities, reduce defects, improve process capability, and support cost reduction initiatives.\nAbility to prepare technical reports, present project status updates, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global engineering teams.\nSmarterTogether\nCollaborating at Sensata means working with some of the world’s most talented people in an enriching environment that is constantly pushing towards the next best thing\n\nEmployees work across functions, countries and cultures gaining new perspectives through mutual respect and open communication\n\nAs OneSensata, we are working together to make things work together\n\nClick here to view Sensata Recruitment Privacy Statement\nClick here to view our Sensata Recruitment Privacy Statement for China\nNOTE: If you are a current Sensata employee (or one of our Affiliates), please back out of this application and log into Workday via the Company Intranet to apply directly.
