Sense Engineering has over 130 employees across North America, providing restoration, capital planning, structural, mechanical, electrical, building envelope, accessibility, and energy optimization services for buildings.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nAs a Project Manager - Capital Planning, you will play a key role in:\nProject Management: Lead and oversee building assessment projects, ensuring timely, accurate and budget-conscious deliverables.\nClient Relations: Maintain and nurture strong relationships with clients, exceeding expectations at every opportunity.\nTeam Leadership: Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.\nTechnical Expertise: Conduct site reviews, analyse data and prepare detailed reports, including Depreciation Reports, Warranty Reviews and Building/Property Condition Assessments.\nProposals & Planning: Develop project scopes, budgets and timelines, ensuring alignment with client goals and organisational standards.\nResponsibilities:\nPromote a positive, professional reputation for Sense Engineering.\nStay up-to-date with industry standards, building codes, market conditions and emerging technologies.\nConduct site visits, manage resources and prepare comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations.\nLead the preparation of proposals, including developing project scopes and fees.\nMonitor project budgets and timelines, keeping stakeholders informed of progress.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n5+ years of experience in capital planning, preferably within the engineering or building assessment sector.\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Materials, Mechanical), Building Science, Architectural Science or Applied Science; or Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).\nGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).\nValid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.\nA proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.\nWillingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong work ethic, leadership skills and a client-centric mindset.\nProficiency in building codes, standards and industry practices.\nA proactive approach to problem-solving and team mentorship.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\nWhy Join Sense Engineering?\nJoin a vibrant and supportive team of dedicated professionals who value collaboration and camaraderie - plus, we make time for fun with our monthly social events!\nWork on impactful projects with leading clients and contractors.\nEnjoy opportunities for professional development and knowledge sharing.\nBase salary range is $90,000 to $120,000 (commensurate with experience).\nEventual opportunities to purchase shares in a successful and growing company.\nComprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family's well-being, including a Health Care Spending Account and Wellness Account.\nThis posting is for an existing vacancy that Sense Engineering is currently recruiting to fill.\n\nWe appreciate the time and effort of all applicants, however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
