Represent Sense professionally, building positive relationships with clients, contractors and other consultants.\nKnowledge Development: Enhance your technical expertise and stay current on industry trends and best practices\nTechnical Responsibilities:\nDesign and analyze structures for new construction, renovation and restoration and rehabilitation projects.\nEvaluate existing buildings, leveraging knowledge of diverse materials and structural systems.\nPrepare detailed engineering drawings, reports, and specifications.\nCollaborate with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project success.\nManage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets effectively for successful project delivery.\nConduct site reviews and contract administration inspections and provide guidance during construction.\nLiaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure seamless communication.\nPrepare evaluation reports, construction documents, and project proposals.\nRepresent Sense at client meetings and other networking functions with a commitment to exceptional service standards.\nSupport mentoring of junior engineers and knowledge sharing within Sense\nOccasional travel within Canada required, with the majority of projects to be within Alberta\nOther duties as assigned/required\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited university\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience within a structural engineering firm, preferably involving existing buildings and new construction of institutional, commercial and residential buildings\nStrong technical expertise in structural engineering and materials\nRegistered or actively pursuing registration with the Association of Profession Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)\nProficiency with structural design software (e.g., S-Frame, ETABS, spSlab) and familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit\nProven ability to apply project management principles, from strategic planning and budgeting to resource allocation and scope control\nExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills with a proven ability to build trust with clients and contractors\nGood working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.\nStrong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset\nTeam player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment\nCommitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization\nValid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required\nWhy Join Sense Engineering?\nJoin a vibrant and supportive team of dedicated professionals who value collaboration and camaraderie - plus, we make time for fun with our monthly social events!\nWork on impactful projects with leading clients and contractors.\nEnjoy opportunities for professional development and knowledge sharing.\nCompetitive salary and benefits package including profit sharing twice a year.\nEventual opportunities to purchase shares in a successful and growing company.\n\nWe appreciate the time and effort of all applicants, however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
