Take ownership of your work and focus on providing solutions.\nMarketing: Represent Sense Engineering professionally, building positive relationships with clients, contractors and other consultants.\nKnowledge Development: Enhance your technical expertise and stay current on industry trends and best practices.\nTechnical Responsibilities:\nDesign and analyze structures or structural components for new construction, renovation and restoration projects.\nEvaluate existing buildings, leveraging knowledge of diverse materials and structural systems.\nPrepare detailed engineering drawings, reports, and specifications.\nPrepare evaluation reports, construction documents, and project proposals.\nSupport project delivery by providing input into the development of project budgets when required.\nCollaborate with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure project success.\nConduct site reviews and contract administration inspections and provide guidance during construction.\nLiaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure seamless communication.\nRepresent Sense at client meetings and other networking functions with a commitment to exceptional service standards.\nSupport junior engineers and knowledge sharing within Sense.\nOccasional travel within Canada required, with the majority of projects to be within Ontario.\nOther duties as assigned/required.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited university.\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience within a structural engineering firm, preferably involving existing buildings and new construction of institutional, commercial and residential buildings.\nStrong technical expertise in structural engineering and materials.\nRegistered or actively pursuing registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).\nProficiency with structural design software (e.g., S-Frame, ETABS, spSlab) and familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit.\nExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and relationship building skills with a proven ability to build trust with clients and contractors.\nGood working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.\nStrong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client-centric mindset.\nTeam player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment.\nCommitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.\nValid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.\nWhy Join Sense Engineering?\nJoin a vibrant and supportive team of dedicated professionals who value collaboration and camaraderie - plus, we make time for fun with our monthly social events!\nWork on impactful projects with leading clients and contractors.\nEnjoy opportunities for professional development and knowledge sharing.\nBase salary range is $80,000 to $100,000 (commensurate with experience).\nThis position is eligible for profit sharing bonuses based on company and individual performance, typically increasing the estimated total compensation range by 10% to 20%.\nEventual opportunities to purchase shares in a successful and growing company.\nComprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family's well-being, including a Health Care Spending Account and Wellness Account.\n\nWe appreciate the time and effort of all applicants, however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
