This role will play a critical part in expanding the firm’s presence in the alternative asset space by helping build a scalable private equity practice while collaborating across audit, tax, and advisory service lines.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrivate Equity Audit Leadership\nLead complex private equity fund audits including multi-tier structures, SPVs, co-investment vehicles, and management companies.\nProvide technical leadership in investment company accounting, fair value measurements, and fund economics.\nOversee audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables and regulatory compliance.\nAdvise clients on valuation methodologies, fund structures, and accounting implications of investment transactions.\n Technical Expertise & Quality Oversight\nMaintain deep knowledge of GAAP, investment company accounting, and alternative asset fund reporting.\nProvide guidance on:Fair value measurements (ASC 820)\nCapital account mechanics including waterfall allocations and carried interest\nManagement fee and expense structures\n\nSupport the development of internal technical expertise and mentor team members on complex valuation and audit topics.\nPractice Growth & Business Development\nLead strategic initiatives to grow the private equity audit practice.\nTransition and manage an existing book of business while cultivating new client relationships.\nDevelop relationships with fund managers, institutional investors, fund administrators, legal counsel, and valuation specialists.\nIdentify and pursue opportunities to cross-sell services across tax and advisory practices.\nClient Relationship Management\nServe as a trusted advisor to General Partners, CFOs, and fund leadership teams.\nProvide proactive insight into accounting developments, fund operations, and industry trends.\nStrengthen the firm’s position as a trusted partner across the entire fund lifecycle.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nExperience recruiting, developing, and mentoring a dedicated private equity fund audit team.\nFoster a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture focused on excellence and innovation.\nSupport career development pathways for audit professionals interested in alternative investments.\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n10-20+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on private equity or alternative investment funds.\nCPA License required.\nSignificant experience leading complex private equity fund audits.\nDemonstrated experience managing senior client relationships and engagement teams.\nDeep technical expertise in private equity fund audits and alternative investment structures.\nStrong understanding of fair value frameworks, valuation methodologies, and investment accounting.\nProven leadership capabilities with the ability to build and scale a practice area.\nExcellent client relationship management and advisory skills.\nStrong business development and networking abilities.\nAbility to operate effectively in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial firm environment.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into clear business insights.\nCollaborative mindset with the ability to partner across service lines.\nExperience building or expanding a private equity or alternative investments practice.\nExperience transitioning or managing a portable book of business.\nPrior leadership experience at the Partner or Managing Director level.\nCompensation & Benefits\nThis role offers a competitive base salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary ranges for U.S.-based positions are determined by geographic location and fall into one of three pay zones, which reflect the cost of labor in that area. The anticipated salary ranges for this position are outlined below and are subject to change:\n\nCompensation & Partnership Structure:\nBase compensation: $300,000-$500,000+ annually\nRevenue-based incentive compensation tied to individual and firm performance\nCandidates who bring an established book of business will be considered for Equity Partner designation\nWhen determining compensation, we consider a variety of factors such as a candidate’s professional experience, skills, and qualifications.
