This Category Manager will play a key role in shaping and executing global category management strategies that align with Sensient’s long-term business objectives. Your expertise will drive performance, foster supplier collaboration, and enhance the overall value we deliver to our customers.\nWhat you’ll do:\nDevelop and execute comprehensive category strategies for food ingredients and select indirect spending.\nThis role will partner closely with R&D, Quality, Operations, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support business growth and operational strategy.\nThis role will lead RFPs, RFQs, and competitive bidding, supplier selection, and contract negotiations to achieve cost, quality, service, and supply objectives. \nAnalyze market trends, industry benchmarks, and cost drivers to achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership.\nManage a strategic sourcing process to efficiently handle category needs, from sourcing to performance evaluation.\nBuild and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to drive innovation and competitive advantage.\nUse Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) techniques to maximize value through supplier partnerships.\nLead multi-level negotiations with suppliers, guiding internal stakeholders through legal, commercial, and service level agreements.\nWhat you’ll bring:\n3+ years of procurement category management experience that includes strategic sourcing, preferably within the food and beverage industry, but not required. \nStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and draw insights from multiple sources of data\nDemonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English at a professional business level.\nA track record of successful savings year over year.\nStrong organizational, negotiation, and leadership skills, coupled with ability to quickly build long-term collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders\nBachelor’s degree preferred\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in SAP or JD Edwards preferred.\nWhat you’ll get:\nAn opportunity to lead sourcing efforts for a global leader in food ingredients and indirect sourcing strategies.\nA collaborative work environment where your expertise will be valued and directly impact business success.\nAbility to collaborate with peers and colleagues in office 5 days a week.\nCompetitive compensation and benefits package.\nOpportunities for career growth and professional development within a dynamic, innovative company.\nAbout Sensient:\nSensient Technologies Corporation is a leading global manufacturer and marketer of colors, flavors, and extracts.
