As a primary enabler in this hardware enabled SaaS mission, you lead the end to end development of wireless sensor systems from initial research and customer pilots to managing a massive scalable fleet. You will work within cross functional teams to master embedded software and automated factory feedback while ensuring data science teams have the high quality insights needed to drive global efficiency. Beyond technical execution, you provide the engineering leadership necessary to mentor peers through design reviews and scale a greener industrial future.\nIn this role you will be part of the Edge Infrastructure team that is responsible for part of the platform. You will work mainly on our connected bridges that gather data from sensors and ingest the data to our cloud platform. Deep technical knowledge about systems, embedded Linux, and networking are required in this team. \nSome of the things you will be doing in your day-to-day work will be:\nDevelop and maintain our embedded software on the Debian based gateways.\n\nDesign, develop, and maintain our tools for fulfillment and onboarding, always striving to make them better but also more efficient.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define and architect end-to-end IoT solutions that meet product goals and technical requirements.\n\nCode reviews and provide feedback on your colleague's work.\n\nParticipate in brainstorming and ideation sessions to solve scalability challenges like, for example, building a VPN, optimizing data communication.\n\nWhat you bring:\nMust have:\n6 years of experience building software for connected devices, with (industrial) IoT products based on embedded Linux.\n\nYou have experience with the following scripting languages: Python and bash.\n\nYou have experience with at least one of the following languages: C/C++ and/or Rust.\n\nSolid grasp of the embedded Linux boot chain (U-Boot, kernel, and device tree) and comfortable customizing device trees and kernel configuration for custom hardware.\n\nExperience building and maintaining embedded Linux images with a rootfs/image build system (e.g. Yocto, Buildroot, pi-gen, debootstrap) and integrating kernel and userspace components\n\nYou have worked with a variety of interfaces such as serial ports, and Ethernet.\n\nNetworking concepts (TCP, UDP, DHCP, ARP, IP, etc).\n\nEmbedded systems communication protocols (MQTT, NATs, etc)\n\nYou are comfortable in a growing, changing environment; even more than that, you thrive in these.
